Isabelle "Izzy" Pineda is a booktuber. Making videos about books is the only way she can turn off her everyday life and connect with the boy she met online. Her father has been remarried twice since divorcing her mother,
Jason "Jace" Fleming met a girl online and bonded with her over their love for books. His parents' divorce was rough and falling in love with Izzy seemed harmless. Until his mother announces she is getting remarried and he is shocked to learn his new stepfather is Izzy's dad. But Jason is not about to let one more thing break his heart.
As the pair are drawn closer to each other, Izzy's father and Jason's mother are not very happy about their budding relationship. Push comes to shove and Jason is threatened, he is forced to move into his dad's home. Izzy moves in with her brother, the only person giving her support in the decisions she makes. But before she and Jason can really be together, the charges for a prank gone wrong at their senior prom need to be dropped and the true culprit found.
