Louri’s POV
It’s so good to be in a real bed again. Wait, why is Scarlett shaking me? “Louri, Louri.” “What? What’s happening?” I ask. “I have an idea.” She says and I look at my phone to check the time. “Scarlett, it's 02:00 hours, can this wait?” I ask. “No it can't, I have an idea.” She says. “Ok what is your idea?” I ask sitting up. “We fuck with my mother.” She smiles. “How are we going to do that?” I ask her I love a good prank. “By talking to each other in Danish. She knows I speak Danish but she doesn’t know that you do.” She says. “If I agree, can I go back to sleep?” I ask. “Yes you can.” She says. “Thank you. Sounds fun Jeg elsker dig(I love you)” I say before laying back down. “Jeg elsker også dig(I love you too)” She says giving me a kiss and lays on me, spread eagle.
Scarlett’s POV
I wake up to the light coming through the window and Louri’s arms wrapped securely around me. I get out of her hold without waking her so I can go get breakfast ready and the one cup of coffee I’m allowed to have before everyone gets up. But I am greeted by Mom and Lisa already in the kitchen. I wanted some time alone before the crazy kicks in. “Morning dear.” Lisa says and I just grunt. “Let her have her coffee first then you can talk to her.” Mom says to Lisa I want to roll my eyes but she’s not wrong. “I’m gonna make a pot for Louri and I.” I grumble. “Sorry for grunting at you.” I apologize to Lisa after I finish my coffee and start on the pancakes. “Oh it’s ok you aren’t nearly as bad as Louri.” She chuckles. “True.” I say and I hear little feet rushing down the stairs. “Devon, what did I tell you about running down the stairs?” Louri’s voice scolds from the top of the steps. “Not to.” He says. “Don’t do it again you could get  hurt ok.” She says making  her way down the stairs trying to hide her limp from our parents she didn’t want her mom to know. She makes her way into the kitchen and wraps her arms around me from behind and rests her head on my shoulder. “Jeg har brug for koffein.(I need caffeine)” She says and Mom’s jaw just drops. “Godmorgen til, dig også, min koffein-junkie.(Good morning to you too, my caffeine junkie)” I reply. “Godmorgen min sexede kone. Jeg har brug for koffein.(Good morning my sexy wife. I need caffeine.)” She says. “Jeg lavede en kande kaffe.(I made a pot of coffee)” I tell her. “Ok what’s happening?” Mom asks. “Ask Scarlett.” Louri says, making her way to the coffee pot. “Louri was stationed in Denmark for a year she’s fluent and I wanted to mess with you.” I tell mom. “Louri Dollese use a mug and don't drink out of the pot.” I scold. “Did you just middle name me?” She asks. “She’s allowed she’s your wife.” Lisa says. “Fine I’ll use a mug.” Louri groans. “Thank you.” I say. “Oh incoming.” Mom says and we hear two sets of small feet making their way into the kitchen. “They were asleep when you brought them back yesterday they don’t know I’m home.” Louri says putting down her mug. “MAMA!!!” Maya cheers and runs for Louri and Maya’s head goes straight into Louri’s wound when she latches herself to Louri’s leg. “Louri dear, are you ok?” Lisa asks as you see the veins in Louri’s forehead pop and she clenches her jaw. “I’m fine.” She breathes out and picks Maya up. “You home.” Louisa says in the doorway of the kitchen. “I am, come here sweetheart.” She says holding out her free arm and scoops up Louisa easily. “Ugh I missed my girls.” She says giving them both kisses on the head. “Where tags?” Louisa asks. “They are under my shirt. See the chain around my neck.” Louri says and Louisa pulls on it pulling Louri’s tags out making her grab hold of them and lays her head on Louri’s shoulder. “What it say?” Louisa asks, shoving the tag in Louri’s face. “It says. Lt. Colonel Louri Evans-Johansson. Blood type O+ and my serial number 24601.” Louri tells her. “Mama?” Maya asks. “Yes sweetheart?” Louri replies. “Will you watch Frozen with us?” She asks. “I would love to let’s go watch Frozen, who knows I might even sing.” She says and I’m sure she will. And surely enough they are singing. “Do you want to build a snowman?” Louri comes dancing into the kitchen and picks me. “Ah Louri put me down.” I squeal as she spins around. “They are cute.” I hear Mom say. “I got a picture. I’m posting it.

“Mama is silly.” Devon says as Louri sets me down. “Very.” Louri agrees. “And I love every minute of it.” I say pulling her in for a kiss. “Yucky.” Devon says and Louri looks at me and I nod and we both go and start peppering kisses on his face making him laugh. The girls are thoroughly invested in the movie. “I really missed times like this.” Louri says as Devon goes back to the movie and I finish the pancakes and she cuts up some fruit. “I’m so glad you’re home.” I say resting my head on her shoulder. “Me too Baby me too.” She says kissing my head.
