"i still can't believe i got the job"
finn and i find ourselves in a serene corner of a cafe for breakfast, away from the bustling commotion of the crowded streets.
today, in particular, the town is teeming with people. an influential political figure's visit has filled the roads with people and cameras.
that's pretty problematic for finn, considering he's a public figure as well.
coming to the cafe turned into a nightmare, with the paparazzi swarming him with questions as we attempted to make our way through the crowds.
"me neither" finn breathes. "i'm so happy"
i shoot him a grin, finishing the rest of my omelette.
"i really wanna go home, but all that scares me" i direct finns attention towards the flashing cameras outside.
"me too" he sighs.
i bite the inside of my cheek. "how dare you be an actor"
finn stands up, pulling me along.
"we can't hide here forever"
the two of us hastily exit through the glass door, finn opting to cover his face with a hat, taking extra precautions.
however, that immediately goes to waste.
the deafening symphony of flashes fill the air, invasive questions being thrown at him once again.
i always knew finn attracts this kind of attention, it's nothing new, but i find myself caught in a web of unease when i somehow get included in the spotlight.
"are you and sadie dating?"
"what's it like dating a celebrity?"
the situation is almost funny, yet it's not.
the tad of social anxiety in me wasn't making this any more enjoyable, causing my heart to race as strangers bombard me with inquiries.
every flash of a camera becomes a bolt of lightning. my hands are clammy, shaking as i try my best to avoid the prying eyes.
"ignore it" finn murmurs to me.
"i just wanna go home and listen to 1989 taylors version" i whisper back, causing him to chuckle under his breath.
our legs gradually increase their speed, attempting our best to escape the lenses that capture our every move.
