Chapter 1

I am so nervous right now.

I have always wanted to be a nurse and I think I am finally about to fulfill my dreams.

I just typed in my resume and  I am going to hit the send button in 3..2..1..SEND.

There is no reply yet but I'm sure I'll land a good one,right?

"Yes".

I have received a notification.

It says 'Job offer for male nurse in Sussex.'

"Oh my!" "That is quite the jackpot".

It's one of the richest counties .
My poor Rutland is nothing in comparison to Surrey or Sussex.

I wonder how I will break the news to everyone.

'Job offer accepted'

"WHAT!. I did not click the accept button what just happened"

"Oh this bloody computer and it's bloody deeds."

I forgot to remove the automatic accept thingie.

"Oh golly"

"How on earth do I explain this to the girls."

I'd better get packing .

"It's time for dinner everyone".

The Tikivani kids all jumped downstairs with the exception of Dan, as usual.

"Dan ,you come down here this instant ".

"I'm coming ma, why do you always make such a fuss of me being late ,"he said coming down the stairs.

"Look here young man , you may be the only boy but you are expected to come down with your sisters,".

"I get it ma , but you know I can't come for dinner in my work clothes, I have to change first."

"Ta, you always say that."

"But I am not going to let you ruin my mood."

Dinner went on in a comfortable silence, the only sound being silverware on porcelain plates.

"*clears throat* There is something I want to tell you all."

With that statement everyone turned to look at Dan.

"I am moving"

"That's not a funny joke Dan",my sister Lavender retorted.

"It's not a joke"

"What do you mean it's not a joke.",my father snapped from the other side of the room.

"You didn't inform us of any news , nothing at all you just woke up this evening and decided you were moving that's absurd."

"Dad, I have given this a lot of thought and I'm telling you all first, I haven't told anyone else yet" .

My explanation was greeted with silence .

"It was the best offer".

Still silence.

"Don't you want the best for me"?,I asked with a tear threatening to escape my eyes.

"Dan, of course we want the best for you ",my eldest sister,Iris replied ,"but what if moving is not the best for you".

"You haven't even told us where you intend on relocating to".

" I guess you have a point there",I reasoned with a sniff,"But that doesn't mean I am not moving to Sussex".

"Sussex? That's such a big city, how on earth will you cope there".

"Don't worry about it ma, I'll cope just fine".

"If that's what you want, but I'm helping you pack."

"Of course you can help mom".

"I am definitely not letting you pick my clothing though.", I mumbles.

"I heard that".

"It was a slip of the tongue,nothing tangible really.
