*DANNYS POV*
I wrap my fingers in Maddies as we walk away from a very shocked Taylor. Paul follows close behind us. I glance over at Maddie every few minutes to make sure she's alright. I can tell shes upset, but shes trying to hide it. I hate seeing her like that.
We get to a small park and we sit down on the swings. "Alright, lets be honest, i didnt know Taylor was in Maryland at all. Before we left Texas, i told her i never wanted to be with her, and that you were who i needed to be with." I say to Maddie. Her face hardens. Crap. "Why were you with her in the first place?" She spits at me. "Maddie, we used to be really good friends, and i never dated her, we were just talking." I say. "and kissing." Paul huffs. "shut up Paul." I say. Maddie groans. "Danny i love you, and i want to be with you, but we cant make this work if i cant trust you. Please, tell me the truth." Maddie says looking at the ground. I sigh. "I love you. ok? you. This ends now. Your the one i want maddie, its always been you. Everything i do, is you. My music, everything. I love you, and one day where we're older, we'll be married. Because its you ok?" I say. Maddie stares at me. Pauls jaw drops. And at that moment, i really didnt care. Because Taylor ruined everything.
We sit on the swings in silence for what seems like forever. Paul clears his throat. I look at the sky as a crack of thunder booms, and it starts to poor. None of us move. We still sit on the swings, staring at the ground in silence.
*MADDIES POV*
Everythings quiet, other than the sound of the rain hitting us, and everything around us. "Danny?" i finally say, looking over at him. Hishair's no longer curly, its dripping with water. I want to smile but i dont. "Can all this just stop? can we go back to the way we used to be? all of us? You me and Paul? can we just...stop lying?" i say quietly. Danny gets up and pulls me up to. he wraps his arms around me. he says nothing, instead he pushes his lips to mine.
We pull apart and the rain stops falling. I smile and look over at Paul whos frowning. I know its hard for him. but hes gonna have to live with it. Because im keeping a secret bigger than anything esle.
