Kera went to the ship hangar where Jazlyn was waiting for her.

"Ok Jazlyn, are you ready?" Kera asked.

"Yup!" Jazlyn replied excitedly. Kera showed her the buttons, what they did, how to steer, and the other basic things about piloting a starship.

After that Kera leaned back on her seat. "Alright Jazlyn, let's try flying now."

Jazlyn's gaze shot up at her friend, surprised she would have her fly so soon.

"How are you gonna learn without doing it?" Kera said with a raised eyebrow. "I know hands on is how you learn best sooo."

"Ok true. So... this button and then this one?" Jazlyn pointed at the buttons a bit uncertainly.

"Yeah." Kera affirmed. Jazlyn turned on the ship and began to fly very carefully. A jolt of fear spiked through her, then amazement. She was the one in control of a flying vehicle that was in the air. That excited her, which made her smile.

"Just fly around there and then get back and land." Kera instructed. Jazlyn did as she was told. Her steering was wobbly, as she was still getting used to the fact she was even piloting. She was not reckless however, and she didn't crash into anything.

When she landed the ship Kera said, "That was really good for your first flight! You learned fast!"

"That's because you taught me really well." Jazlyn said with a smile. Kera did not seem to expect that compliment but smiled back gratefully.

Jazlyn spent the next week practicing her flying. She got to the point that she could race Kera and almost win. That afternoon Jazlyn and Kera were racing again. Kera was in front, but Jazlyn was right behind her.

"I think I can beat you this time Kera!" Jazlyn said.

"I don't think so." Kera said. Then Kera did an impressive spin and got even ahead even more.

"I'm going to win someday Kera! It might as well be today." Jazlyn declared. With that she also threw her ship into a spin and went over Kera's ship to take the lead. She pushed the accelerator and went past the designated finish line with Kera right behind her.

"I told you I'd win." Jazlyn said with a smile.

"Yeah, well you had to win someday." Kera admitted, "That was really fun though!"

"Yeah, it was!"

They flew the ships back to the hangar and climbed out.

"Well since you beat me, I think that I'm done teaching you." Kera said.

"Thank you for teaching me, Kera." Jazlyn hugged her friend tightly.

Kera smiled and returned the embrace. "You were a great student."

They walked inside and suddenly they heard a crash and the rushing of water in a nearby room.

"Looks like we gotta clean something." Jazlyn sighed.

Kera carefully opened the door and saw the sink was broken and water was everywhere.

"Yikes! What happened!?" Jazlyn exclaimed. Kera went up to the broken sink and reached into the drain. After some effort she pulled out a wrench.

"This is what happened. Someone blocked the drain of the sink!" Kera said, holding the wrench.

Jazlyn nodded, "Well, we gotta clean it. Let me go get the mop." She began to ran out of the room but she slipped and fell due to her wet shoes.
