Klaus's POV:

We make our way to the source of the sounds of Hayley's screams. It enrages me. I hear more shouting and when we turn past a rusted out shed, I spot them.

Shawn is trying to keep Hayley restrained as he drags her toward the barn. Having enough, he snaps her neck and she goes limp in his grasp.

We move forward and Shawn spots us.

He's a bit stunned at first then smiles cruelly when he sees me.

"Long time old friend." He says sarcastically

He lets Hayley fall to the ground.

Shawn moves forward quickly, eyes set on me. Elijah moves toward Hayley, attempting to check on her.

"Time for some fun." Shawn says

He waves his hand and Elijah's neck snaps as he crouched beside Hayley, and he too falls to the ground.

Leaving me alone with Shawn.

I'm going to enjoy this.

Lorelei's POV:

Freya lets out a frustrated groan.

We needed to move closer to perform the spell. Freya has been sitting cross-legged on the ground, squeezing her fists in frustration, chanting intelligibly.

I stare out in the direction of where Nik and Elijah had gone, hoping they're having better luck than us. I look back at the kids.

Still breathing.

It relaxes me a bit that they're okay- generally speaking. Better than dead. Much better.

Klaus's POV:

Shawn raises his hand and lighting shoots out from his fingertips. I move out of the way quickly, speed up and punch him hard in the jaw but before I can go for the kill, he launches me into the air and I land hard. I groan and get back up. Hayley is still unconscious. Elijah starts stirring and I make no reaction, wishing that Shawn didn't notice.

We can catch him off guard.

But then he moves just enough for Shawn to catch the motion out of the corner of his eye and he snaps Elijah's neck again without so much as looking in his direction.

"When your sister got into my mind, I got into hers and I know that you all value family above everyone else. You used me to gain power! It only feels right to return the favor."

Lorelei's POV:

Feeling useless, I take off to help the others. There's nothing I can do to help Freya at the moment.

I stop dead in my tracks when I catch a full view of what's happening.

Shawn has his hand through Hayley's back, a large pool of blood forming on her shirt as she gasps in pain.

He's going to rip her heart out.

I speed back to Freya.

"He's going to kill Hayley! Freya hurry! You have to unlink them!" I tell her

Blood starts to pool from her nose and I move towards her immediately.

"Go." She mutters hoarsely "Now."

I take off back to the others.

I feel my heart drop when I see Shawn's heart in Nik's hand. Elijah looks around and sits up quickly, eyes widening when he takes it all in.

"What happened?" I demand moving towards them

"He was going to kill Hayley. I did what I had to do to keep her alive."

I get a bad feeling and take off to the barn.
