Lorelei's POV:

I stare out into the night, the crisp air blowing hard. I've made it to Woodall Mountain in Mississippi. I traded a dark object to a witch in order for her to cloak me. A necklace enchanted with powerful magic, giving the wearer the ability to produce powerful spells without physical consequences.

Now nobody can find me.

And she got a good deal.

Later on in the night, I compel a couple to come into the mountains with me. I drain the male and leave him in the bushes.

Then I kill her too.

Klaus's POV:

I walk into my bedroom and sigh. There's been no sign of Lorelei for over a week. Freya refused to track her, taking Elijah's side on the matter. Hayley has been spending a lot of time resting from the ordeal and spending time with Hope. I move towards my current canvas when something catches my eye on the bed.

Lorelei's engagement ring.

I pick it up and stare at it. The diamonds sparkle in the light. I was originally going to surprise her awhile back. Hope had helped me get everything ready. Little did I know that Lorelei had been shot with an arrow and was bleeding all alone in the woods.

Now she's all alone again.

I know this is destroying her. After everything she'd gone through, she never wanted to spill innocent blood. It was like a curse, no matter what she tried, something would happen and an innocent would get caught in the crossfire of the other species.

Witches.

Wolves.

Vampires.

There were at least a handful on her body count of victims.

Hayley walks into the study at I stare at my blank canvas, sipping bourbon.

She knocks on the doorway and I look up.

"No sign of her yet?" She asks

I gesture to the chair beside me and she sits down. I hold up the ring and her face falls when she sees it. She sighs.

"Look Klaus, she's going through-" She begins

"I'm aware. But she's facing it alone Hayley. I made a promise to myself that she wouldn't go through something like this alone again. And a week ago, I broke that promise."

"You can't blame yourself for this Klaus."
