The world has grown cold,
And all noise has been silenced–
No more a voice rings bold.
I wander down what used to be,
A street populated so,
With not a friend near me.
And I see the world through one good eye,
The other taken unfairly,
From exploring gone awry.
Far enough, houses stand,
Family's long far gone,
Just not from the land.
They hold each other tight,
No more flesh, just bone,
As if it were some nightmare in the night.
Sometimes I wish, I had gone too,
Away from this life of hurting,
And live my life anew–
Up in that sky,
That toxic sky,
With someone who shall love me.
