ㅤPerfect.
That's the only word which described Taehyun.
It's true, I don't like anything about him - But I had to admit, he was much more attractive and pleasing, both to the eyes and mentally. His personality pissed me off at all times. Nobody saw anything wrong with that, especially because people who get into relationships don't get about personality, looks matter the most.
We never had much of a reason to hate each other. But since childhood, me and Taehyun just never had the same choices and rarely saw eye to eye. We were nearly like opposites, he liked winter because of the temperature and I preferred summer for the rainfall.
We barely ever got along even in middle school, he was social. Talkative and actually enjoyed attention while I stayed in a certain friend circle and didn't prefer to socialize.
The only problem was that he'd constantly dragged me into situations and it really pissed me off at times.
I was flipping through the pages of my sketchbook after the Physics class began to get tedious. I looked through some of my good and bad sketches and paintings, which were rather neat even if the ideas of the art pieces weren't that good.
I flipped to the page where I left off, beside was supposed to be a blank page but it was a messy and dirty page written with various colors which didn't go along at all. There was smudged charcoal on the page written with several insults and slurs. I found one of the handwritings familiar, it was Taehyuns. Even if I didn't, I'd expect something like this the most from him, considering our history.
"Beomgyu? What's th-" I shut my sketchbook and shoved it in my desk pocket before Hanbin could take a look at the page. He quickly leaned further from me because of my sudden motion.
I inhaled, pretending like nothing happened.
"Nothing, what?" I turned my face at him. "Beomgyu.. have you been drawing inappropriate things you don't want others to see?" He turned to his own textbook.
"Wait, wait, what? No!" I was taken aback by his misunderstanding. "I was just kidding, calm down, plus, I don't care if you're drawing inappropriate things or not."
"Whatever, do you work." I turned to Taehyun to take a glance at him. Well, to my surprise, he was already staring at me, processing the situation between me and Hanbin. I was expecting him to at least look away, but he just laughed seeing my furious face.
"Hey, do you have the resource sheet for this? Hey, Beomgyu!" Hanbin tapped my shoulder and I turned to him, snapping back. "Huh? What?"
"The resource sheet for this." He circled a question on his paper with the bottom on his pen. "Oh. No," Hanbin stared at me for a moment giving me a questionable look before rolling his eyes and going back to struggling with his work.
I looked back at my own paper deciding I should complete it to not get into trouble.
--
The class ended and Hanbin seemed to be in a rush. I looked around in the occupied classroom standing up to Hanbin who was hurrying and packing his textbooks. "What's wrong?" I asked concerned if something was wrong.
Hanbin froze for a moment letting out a troubling sigh. "Well-- I slept in 2 days of rehearsal with my band, I didn't know both times we had it in the first second periods which we had free class in and just set my alarm at the wrong time and I know Hao's gonna end me if I don't go today, that being early." He said in a quick pace, almost difficult for me to understand.
"Ohh. Okay." Hanbin was yet again mildly irritated how I was always lost in everything he said, and sometimes also wondered if I was doing it on purpose. "See you later!" he finished his packing up and stormed off waving at me.
"Goodluck!" I was now wondering what to do; Stay in classroom and finish my assignments, or go to the library and finish it.
I sat back down and started packing up, clearing up with my desk coming to a decision to spend time in the library with not much of a choice since Taehyun and his friends occupied the classroom during lunch in certain days, and today seemed like one of them.
By now the classroom was way quieter and emptier, nearly leaving only me in it.
I stood up, about to leave until Taehyun decided to startle me by dropping his heavy bag on my desk and leaning on a desk nearby to say "hello" making me shrink back into my chair.
"What's up Beomgyu?" He gave me a fake smile. I noticed Kai and Jisung beside him leaning on different desks. "Did you like our messages?" He slightly leaned in closer. I supposed he was talking about the things he and his annoying friends.
"Yeah, I loved them." I spoke, playing along with his sarcastic conversation. Although something I'd actually want to say would be like 'you think I did' or 'who would like messages like that' but that would just be proof of my irritation to his tricks, which would be a win for him and I wouldn't let that happen.
"That's not really a common reply someone would hear from you, is it?" He gave me a frown as if he's sad for me.
"You know, if you weren't such a satirist, you wouldn't have to face that many breakups."
And exactly, that's what it exactly took me to get to his core and his blood boiling.
The sarcasm from Taehyuns tone and expression changed to more of a serious one. He turned his head and rolled his eyes to the boys behind him, them giving a questionable and confused reaction to him. "What? What did you say to me?"
"I sai-" I heard a knock on the door which I didn't think was opened that wide before when he first started talking to me. "Time's up Terry, get out." His familiar voice made me sigh in relief.
"Yeonjun, do you not know it's rude to interrupt others? Especially it being your best friend." Taehyun asked, pleading sarcastically.
"Taehyun, didn't you know it's bad to ignore your elders' orders?" He replied instantly leaving no gap between his and Taehyuns conversation. Taehyun turned his face back to me and gave me a threatening look which didn't last too long before he took his bag and walked off to the door with his friends catching up.
Taehyun stopped straight in front the door giving Yeonjun a glare before pushing him by his shoulder and walking out, and soon it was just me and Yeonjun in the classroom with a big distance.
"If you just keep staring at me and not get up, I'm gonna leave you here, okay?" I finally snapped and stood up. "Oh. Yeah, I forgot you were here."
I approached the door and walked out, Yeonjun closing the door and walking behind me.
"So?"
"What so?" I asked Yeonjun who was spinning a pencil in his hand clearly more energetic than me. "Like, where you heading?"
"Where else do I go in this pathetic place? The library, obviously, which isn't any better than anywhere else in this shitty place." I seemed a bit.. angry or stood up to calmly speak to anyone. We kept walking till we arrived at the library
"Oh? Taehyun really managed to get into your nerves this time?" I scoffed at Yeonjuns comment. "You're saying as if he never does."
"Well not this badly he does." I heard Yeonjun laugh when I'm clearly furious about him. "Don't laugh!"
We got to the entrance of the library and entered. I slightly bowed to the old librarian as Yeonjun just passed by with his hands shoved in the pockets on his jeans to find a good table to sit in, it was normal for Yeonjuns attitude.
"Don't be so disrespectful." I whispered to him catching up.
He rolled his eyes and sat down on the opposite of me after I took my seat. He pulled his chair back and sat down clearly to do nothing important. "You're not gonna do anything?" I pulled out my textbooks and pencils, accidentally taking out my sketchbook along with the pile of textbooks.
"Do I ever?" I paused. "Oh. Yeah, you don't." I slipped the sketchbook and put the textbooks aside, turning to the page Taehyun wrote on and slid it closer to Yeonjun.
"The hells this?" He pulled it closer and looked through it a little.
