MEEEEEEEOOOOWWW

You wake up startled to the scream of your cat near your ear.

You snort, while once again the cat runs away, avoiding a possible punishment. You put on your slippers next to the bed and you stand up. It's Sunday, and normally if it wasn't for Miru, you'd have slept a lot longer. But today you were thinking of going for a walk in the new mall that had been opened a few days earlier, so in order not to find a lot of people you prefer to go and visit it in the morning. You go down to the kitchen and make your breakfast quietly, trying not to wake your parents up who you think are still asleep.

"Good morning, honey"

"Oh, good morning mom"

Your mum sits at the table with you, too. She makes herself a cup of tea and sips it slowly.

"You usually sleep more on weekends"

"You too mom. Ah, today I want to go see the new mall with a couple of friends! We'll meet there this morning, so there won't be any queues!"

"I'm sorry but your father and I had other plans for today."

"Don't worry mom! I'll be back before noon!"

"I didn't mean that."

Shut up and listen to her.

"We decided to give you visits to better understand your, you know, "very particular characteristics?" It won't last long, only the morning and then you'll have the afternoon off."

"Ah. Okay."

"Thank you, y/n. You really are a very understanding son."

You smile at her, even though you were sorry to have to give up on your friends. You follow her with your eyes as she goes up the stairs back to her room.

"Oh, I almost forgot! I have to ask you something!"

"Yes?"

"Have you met any girls lately?"

"What are you talking about?"

"Well, these last few days your head is always in the clouds. I was just wondering if you needed a little help."

"Ahah, no thanks, it's all right."

Your mom smiles at you

"As you like, y/n"

"No, I mean, I don't like anyone! Don't get the wrong idea."

She gives you a sarcastic smile

"Yes, yes, keep your secrets"

"Mom!" you snort, while she chuckles and goes away.

You really don't know what you've been feeling for the last few days, that is, since the last time you saw Sakusa, or at least that's how you remember his name. Even though your team won in the end, he was the first to break through the Tendou wall, which makes you shudder. You still can't forgive yourself for that mistake. The moment you saw his face for the first time crosses your mind. You instinctively put your hands on your face and you want to bury yourself alive on the spot.

You're opening your eyes to your mother in front of you again.

"H-Have you forgotten something?" you don't know why, but you've got a knot

"No, I just wanted to see how you were with the preparation, but I realized that my guess wasn't wrong"

"WHAT?!"

"Come on, you're red as a tomato, stop lying to me"

"no.no.no.no.no.no.no.no.no.no.no." you repeat as you leave the table and climb the stairs to go to the bathroom. You lock the door and fall on it.

'What's happening to me?!' you ask yourself, as you bury your face in your hands.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Fzzzz

The LED lights in the waiting room make an annoying background noise.

You're sitting in a hard plastic chair, as uncomfortable as few others. You're with your parents and the idea that at this hour you could be buying a new manga or a video game makes you a little annoyed.

"135!"

"WE'RE COMING! Come on, y/n, it's us," your mother tells you. You finally get out of your chair and walk into the room. The room is quite spacious and has a cot in the center with many equipment nearby never seen before.

"So you are y/n?" says one of the two doctors inside.

"Yes"

"Come in, please." You sit on the bed and after a nod from the other doctor, you take off your sweatshirt.

TW//BLOOD

"Have you ever taken a blood sample?"

"Twice"

"Okay, then let's go smoothly. Do you have any allergies in particular?" he asks as he approaches with a needle.

"No"

"Perfect. Would you tell me how old you are?"

"I am 16 years old"

"Ok. I'm not taking that much blood. However, if you have any pain or discomfort, let me know."

She inserts the needle into your left arm and you feel the usual tingling in your arm.

After a couple of minutes, the doctor takes it off and puts your sweatshirt back on.

Then he sends you a message as soon as he finishes testing the blood, he'll send you a message.

END OF TW

Get in the car and drive back home.

'In my opinion, nothing special will come out in the end. People will say that I am healthy and that red hair is just one of the mutations that any individual can have and in my case I got this.'

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.

You arrive to your room and jump on your bed; then you take your headphones and put them on. You search and blast your favourite spotify playlist in your ears. Hearing music helps you keeping a cool head. You stare at the ceiling. Why does it have to be so hard? Why can't you just live like all the other people you've ever met? You still have a difficult question in your head, so you search online the answer.

'What is love?'

Nah, too filosophical.

'How can I know if I'm in love?'

'When you're in love with someone, you'll start to develop strong compassion for them.' you read

But you don't feel "compassion"! And all your friends have talked about love for girls.

'So my emotions are just...nothing? Maybe all I feel is just...friendship? But I haven't talked that much with him. So...curiosity? That's more realistic.'

You stare again at the ceiling and your mind goes blank. A sudden anger flows in you. You scream in your mind.

'Why? Why? Why?' you keep asking yourself.

Then you write the fatal words that you have never thought you would have written in the search bar: 'Am I gay?- test'

You inhale deeply and click on the first test. You start choosing every answer and every click you make, you feel more and moe anxiuos.

'FIND OUT YOUR RESULT' the botton at the end of the page says.

You cross your fingers and click it.

You look then at the screen lighten up and some words appear on it. Your eyes widen up and you throw your phone to the other side of the bed. You run away from the room, like you wanted to run away from those cursed words and delete them from your memory.
