I grabbed my pillow and placed it over my head. This ringtone kept repeating and repeating and repeating. IT'S ANNOYING! Maybe I'm just dreaming and I need to wake up.
I search on my bed lazily. My hands were no luck into getting my phone. Groaning, I removed the pillow, leaned up to reach over to my nightstand. How long was this alarm ringing? I don't even remember setting it.
Looking at the screen, the name for this alarm reads 'Coffee Shop'. I giggled. Shit. I'm late. After stopping the alarm, bunch of messages, voicemails and miss calls from my manager popped up on my screen. "I guess I have to go." Looking at my dog, who can sleep all day and rub it in my face. After I got done stretching, I stood up and hurried getting ready. No time to my hair and making me coffee.
Why did I decide to stay up late, fixing a relationship that's never going to change? I grabbed my bag and headed out of my studio. I didn't even put on my makeup, gosh I know I look like a hot mess. Baggy green shirt, leggings, converse, and a messy bun. Typical.
Good thing my job is a few blocks down. Or else, for sure I'll be screwed. Walking into the coffee shop my manager glared at me. Oops. I hurried in the back, clocking in and trying to put my bag into my locker. As I turned around, I'm greeted with a disappointed look.
"You're late. Again." Did I mention my sister is the manager. "I know. I'm sorry." "Aeryn, I didn't hire you, so that you can come in whenever." "Airlia, I said I was sorry." I grabbed my black apron, "Aeryn, this is your tenth time. When are you going to grow up?!" "Airlia!" I took a deep breath, "I said I was sorry." I walked out of the back room, and decided to clean before I switch with Sydney.
"Trevor huh." I wiped one of the tables, "Yes Brett. How'd you know." Looking back at him with his devilish smirk, him shrugging. "Lucky guess." Sydney chimed in, "What is it this time?" Sighing, "He said he promise to do better."
"Yeah like the last time he stood you up at the pier. Which was on your birthday, might I add." Brett laughed, while I kept doing the same. Defending my boyfriend. "It's different. I believe he's change." I didn't have to look at Sydney, she's not happy I took him back.
Of course, Brett always laughs in my face when we break up. Sydney just tells me how it is, even when I don't want to believe it that's she's right. "Well I still don't like him." Before I could say anything, the devil himself waltz in here. "Hey baby." I smiled as our lips touched. "What are you doing here?" Looking shocked as if I'm suppose to know what he's doing here. "Is it wrong to drop by to see my amazing girlfriend." I rolled my eyes and continued finishing up cleaning. "Hey Syd." If looks could kill, I just witness a homicide.
"It's Sydney, Trevor." Brett just stared at him, arms crossed like a dad, just watching Trevor like a hawk, which is quite scary. While, my boyfriend just awkwardly stood there like he's nervous about something. "Sup man." Brett lifted his eyebrow confused. His lips pressing against each other, judgment pouring out his eyes and a nod. No words needed. If I was Trevor, I die in embarrassment. Poor guy trying to please this jerk.
The day dragged on. Trevor just stopping by because he was bored and then suddenly he had to go. Airlia and Brett took care of the inventory and organizing the items, while Sydney took care of the customers orders and then me helping out. "I ordered a non-fat macchiato!" I glimpse at Sydney who smirked and continued helping the customers. Of course she wants me to do it. Breathing, I looked back at the woman and smiled. "Why don't you stop smiling and fix this!" Walking over to her, I grabbed the cup and showed her where she was wrong. "Ma'am this cup clearly reads White Chocolate Mocha with 4 shots of espresso. Your cup is right here," I grabbed an empty cup, that is written Skinny Vanilla Latte "Not touched. Not made."
In disbelief look she backed away. It's takes typical stuck up women like her, that don't apologize or don't like to admit that their in the wrong. After I made her drink, it was time for me to clock out. Trinity came in looking radiant, like always. I walked towards the back and punched out. Putting my apron on the hook I walked out, "You're still coming over for dinner, right." Placing an Iced Latte on the counter. With that I smiled. It's never a question with Sydney, it's an invitation. "Yes, and don't worry auntie will have her kimchi." I grabbed the latte, "You're the best. See you soon." I put my headphones on listening to 'Bubblegum by Clario'.
I walked out and headed home. Maybe I'll get Kuki a treat.
