Your love remains unspoken but deeply felt.

The world spins. It has forever.

The sun rises, the ocean ripples, everything is temporary.

We are temporary. Our mark on the world is temporary. Even if you do the most amazing thing, they will forget you.

Washington will carry the loss of you with him.

History is the tale of lost things.

Lost stories. Lost people. Lost futures.

History is lost.

And so are you.

everything seems to be slipping from your grasp right in front of you. It's all lost. You had found your comfort in not just Washington himself, but the you you saw in him. The little piece of you that you had been looking for, finally found. Then ripped away forever. You will never be the same.

But you will never be the same regardless

You have been changed.

You are changed every day, every second of your life.

You are supposed to change, it's normal.

This doesn't feel normal. It feels too big for just you. All of these emotions you waited to feel now seem so unimportant. You waited to love, you thought you knew what it would feel like. You thought you would know. Love felt like something you would feel when you're older, it's such a big emotion. But alas, love has come and gone.

Love is not temporary. It is permanent. So you may think you are over it, but really the part of you that was enveloped by him is still there.

Because if you walk into a room and notice what's missing, it's still there isnt it?

All the love you'll have after him, it's still going to be for him.

Everything will be for him.

You will live for him. To see him in the paper, to wonder if he thinks about you, you will live for him.

You decide that as he's walking down the aisle.

You decide that as he's already committed to a new woman.

You are too late. Too late for most things. And yet you are too early. Much too early.

You, Y/N, were born in the wrong century.

And so was I.

In fact, I am you.

It was me the whole time.
