The Hall

Hello there. You may not know who I am, but that doesn't matter here. All you need to know for now is that I'm trying to leave this dark hallway. Why am I in this hallway you may ask, well to put it lightly, it's all my fault. I didn't choose to end up here, I didn't mean to end up here, but my choices and actions did lead me here. For as far as I am concerned, my only way out is that light at the end. This should be a simple task, but I'm being followed by something. I don't know what it is, but I can feel it. Its presence is a bit hard to explain. It's like this thing is trying to keep me close. I can feel its long cold tendrils wrapped around my legs, my torso, and my arms, making it hard for me to breath or move steadily. Strangely enough it doesn't feel tool close, but its warm moist breath is constantly brushing against my neck.

Okay, I've finally made it halfway. That should be a good thing, but that's not quite true. The thing's grasp became stronger, its breath became heavier. I started moving slower, and it became harder to breathe. But I kept moving. I'm almost at the end, the light at the end is so close, I could just grab it. Once again, this creature's grasp became stronger and its breath became heavier. I was so close to the end, I was not going to let this thing hold me back. I started to make a run for it. The thing tried to keep me, but I kept moving on. I'm getting closer, almost there, I'm gonna make it...

Ugh where am I. Wait, I'm back at the start of the hall. How? Oh yeah, I fell on my head. I think the creature is gone, I don't feel its presence. It should be safe, right? Wrong. The moment I started my walk, I could feel it again. Its grasp on my body, and its warm breath going down my neck. I was unable to move steadily, and I could barely breathe. How many times do I have to keep walking down the same hallway until I get out? How many times should trip myself just to start over?
