It was a cold winter night. The wind was howling outside and snow was falling heavily.

Snow. It's always snow. Can't i just have a regular, snowless quiddich match for once? Seeker James Potter thought as he tried to sleep. He kept having nightmares that pizza was coming to life and eating him.

I should not have had that cold pizza before bed.

He looked over at his roommates, to see if they were still asleep. Moony lay curled in on himself, as it was the night before the full moon and he had a massive headache. Peter was tossing and turning while muttering something about cheese. James had learned not to question Peter's nightmares the hard way. Sirius, well he was as he was during class, which is, to say, dead to the world. James crept down the stairs to the common room. He pulled out one of the books Moony always said were really good. From what James could understand, it was a book of muggle fairy tales. He'd said it was like the wizard worlds The Tales Of Beetle The Bard. If James was being honest, he'd always loved the stories in the book and made his mother read the to him all the time when he was a kid. He thought the muggle stories were a bit strange, but then if you think about it, he was a wizard, so he couldn't really say anything.

He was reading the story Cinderella, and was liking it, when he heard a chuckle behind him. He turned around to see Lily standing behind the comfy chair, laughing at him.

"What? Why are you laughing?" James asked, as he was clueless.

"It's just.. you're reading Cinderella with this extremely concentrated look at about two o'clock in the morning. Not many people sneak out of their dorms to read fairy tales, Potter. Especially not muggle fairy tales" Lily chuckled

"Do you have a problem with that Evans?" He asked, a hint of challenge in his voice.

"No. Why would I? It's kind of cute. Sneaking out at night to read little stories that if your parents found out you had read, you would probably have no head. Although, I think that would be a better look for you." She smirked at him. Then she got an idea. "I think I'll tell the Slytherins that you like to read fairy tales. Muggle fairy tales." She smiled at the thought of Severus and Lucius laughing at him. Even though she really didn't like Lucius all that much.

"You wouldn't. I'd never live that down." James' eyes narrowed.

"I think we both know I would."

"Don't do it."

"I will."

"If you do, I will kiss you. Right in the middle of dinner tomorrow." He threatened, standing up and walking towards her.

"You would not." Lily said, backing away as James got closer

"Would you prefer now?" James was now nose to nose with her.

"You wouldn't."

"Yes I would."

"Do it, then. I dare you."

"Alright." James had her pinned against the wall, his hand on either side of the wall beside her head.

James lowered his head down to hers, as she was a good few inches shorter than him, and placed his lips gently on hers. He had honestly expected her to hit him. What he hadn't expected was her arms snaking around his neck and kissing him back. After a few minutes of this, James gave Lily a questioning look.

"What?" Lily asked

"It's just... I thought you hated me."

"I do. Well, I did. It's been decreasing because I see how much you protect Peter and I mean,.... your jokes aren't horrible..."

"Aha! You admit I'm funny!"

"Yes, your god damn hilarious, James."

"Good. A good girlfriend should think her boyfriend is funny."

"Who said I wanted to be your girlfriend?"

"Well... do you?"

"Course' I do." Lily punched his arm and smiled at him.
