I woke up to the usual sound of banging on my door and was led down to breakfast. When I walked out of my cell, I looked around at my friends and saw a confident smile on their faces. We were led down, and we got our serving equipment from the back. Zach had all the documents hidden in his jumpsuit, so he hid them until the time was right. Jay showed up with the rest of level one and he got behind the counter and helped us serve everyone. We served them the usual breakfast slop. They ate and were off to the yard. Then level two was brought into the cafeteria. Once they were brought in, we traded spots with the level two group Jay had talked to. Gwen and Lucas walked over, and we all went to the back and got ready for the mission to start.
"Alright little spy," Zach said as he undid the vent bolts and gave the vent map to Gwen, "When I say go, you'll follow the map to the security room. Remember, you have two minutes to get there and hide."
"Don't worry Zeus, I got this."
"Alright glass canon." Gwen got into position by the vent. Zach looked at the clock in the room and counted the seconds. "And... go!" and Gwen ripped open the vent and started climbing through. "The rest of us need to hurry to the security room. We have the perfect window right now."
We walked out of the back room and there was no guard in sight. The guard switch only took five seconds but that was all the time we needed to bolt out the door without being seen. Zach led the charge around every corner. We would stop when he told us, sprint when we were clear, Zach was a master when it came to stuff like this. I wonder how many times he had to sneak away to cause mischief. We were cutting it close because one guard was a slow walker and stopped to tie his shoe. When we turned the final corner, we saw a guard walk into the security room and heard him yell "Freeze! What are you doing here?"
"Glass canon must not have been quick enough." Zach said.
"I got it." I said and snuck behind the guard and kicked the back of his knee to make him fall to the ground and then I hit him over the head with all my strength and knocked him out.
"Thanks Angel." Gwen said and gave me a high five.
"No problem." I signaled that it was all clear and everyone ran into the room, and we locked the door behind us. Pitch found a box of earpieces for us to use. We each grabbed one and set them to a channel that only we were on.
"Ok Hades, you're with me." said Zach.
"Ok but do we have to use the codenames?" Jake said with a groan. We all agreed, and he gave a defeated sigh. "Fine. Let's get going." The two left the room with the map and set for the Wardens office. Just before they left though, I thought I saw an annoyed look on Zach's face. He also wouldn't look at Jake directly. That was weird. We watched as the two ran through the halls this time with the help of Pitch watching the cameras and telling them about upcoming guards. At one point, another slow guard was taking his time going to his next spot.
"Is that guy still there?" Jake said but Zach ignored him. "Hello? Zeus? Is he still there?"
"Yes, now would you keep quiet!" Zach said sounding annoyed. "Why did she have me team up with you?"
"What do you mean by that?"
"I mean that I didn't want to work with you. It was Flares idea for us to be put together for this. She kept saying it would help me, but I don't even want to look you at your guilty face."
Jake then walked in front of Zach so they were face to face. "Alright what's your problem with me? You get along with everyone else perfectly fine, but you haven't even given me the option of talking to you. Whenever I say something, you just ignore me, and you refuse to look me in the eyes. Just tell me why you hate me so much."
