The Invisible Mirror

How can I help those with their sin when I myself have a plank in my eye?

How can I confront them to say there is just one speck in their eye?

I have tried to create change, begin a renewal stirring;

All I get is contempt of that I’m so deserving.

I have been given understanding; I have been given perception;

But why should I perceive when I stop no deception?

Everybody always trusts me, that is so easy to see;

Everyone trusts me except me.

How can I change when I am worse than the worst?

What can I say when I am controlled by this curse?

My life might look enviable, so fun to be;

But enter my life and see what I see.

You’re tearing your family apart;

The hate in your eyes shows you’ve hardened your heart.

Your friends are falling for the trap into which you long ago fell,

They view it with pleasure, while you see the hell.

Life has seemed to turn on you, no break in the clouds of grey;

All you see is the darkness by which you’ve been led astray.

Learning is hopeless; you’ve tried all you can,

But whenever you try, you’re rejected yet again.

You don’t know what is real, the truth, under key;

The questions in your head cover everything you see.

No answers at all, no life forthcoming;

You prepare gallows from invisible shunning.

On the outside, you live your part,

But inside you tear yourself apart.

And when the ground falls away,

You’re left there hanging.

The life slowly slipping from your suffocating form;

There is no passing this storm.

Outside, you will live like you want;

But inside, your body is splayed across the dust.

The remnants of who you were and what you know;

Being eaten by the crows.

Look closely, and you will see death; you’re too late

Breathe deeply, and silently suffocate.

Go ahead, point out my problems, my failures, my rues;

But remember; you know nothing: Live in my shoes.
