The Ten Years Gap \\ 𝗦. 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗼

As the festival became busier and much louder every minute passes.. Because of the fireworks, everyone was rushing to go to a place where the fireworks can be viewed clearly and this made Shinichiro worried.

The girl he had went to the festival with was now sitting on one of the benches, apparently she twisted her ankle a bit earlier from running, no bruises but it seems like she won't be able to move too much tonight.

Shinichiro was kneeling down in front of her while massaging he ankle, worried eyes bore into her feet as he tries to not tense her muscles.. Gently as possible.

"I'm sorry.."

Shinichiro looked up at her, his dark eyes reflecting with her's and he could see the guilt in them.

Letting out a soft chuckle, Shinichiro put his eyes back on her ankle and kept soothing her muscles with his hands

"What for?"

"For ruining the night.."

"You were happy. To me that's all what matters."

Y/N looked at the guy in front of her with her cheeks slightly flushed. Shinichiro.. The more she spends time with him the more she knows why her heart decided to beat for him regardless the age gap and the supposedly roles they are in their life.

"What about you, were you happy?" She mumbled softly only both of them can hear.

Shinichiro then looked up and showed her his genuine smile, his eyes looking at hers in pure adoration.

"I am. Seeing you enjoy the festival earlier.. Watching you getting all excited with various of foods , you constantly dragging me to play games with you.. I am more than happy tonight, (Y/N)."

Y/N nodded with her cheeks now flushed red and Shinichiro noticed this so a teasing smile crept into his face.

"Are you blushing?"

"I'm not!"

The man let out a chuckle and caressed her ankle one more time.

"Sure you aren't.."

The two let the comforting silence overtake their conversation until a couple passed by taking their attention.

"The fireworks are starting in ten minutes! Hurry up!"

Shinichiro then looked at her and he sighed with a small smile when the guilt was very evident on face now.. Her eyebrows were furrowed and her pink lips were pressed into a thin line.

He stood up , now being taller than her as she sat and he reached out for her cheek and cupped it with his hand while maintaining eye contact with her eyes.

"Just so you know. I didn't came here for the fireworks."

Her eyes blinked in confusion. "Then.. What were you here for?"

"To spend at least a night with you during the festival... The fireworks are just a bonus."

Y/N still had a guilty look on her face, that didn't cheer her up at all. Shinichiro then frowned and since this girl was still feeling guilty an idea immediately came to his mind and he leaned down closer to her face.

"Hey, do you trust me?"

"Huh?"

Shinichiro bent down on his knees and put his arm around her and the other lifting her up beneath her knees, lifting her up in bridal style after. Her eyes immediately went wide and the fear of falling took over her, her instinct immediately told her to wrap her arms around his neck while he lifted her up

"That scare-- Warn me!" She smacked his chest but Shinichiro just thought she was being cute right now.

"Yeah, yeah. Sorry ma'am. Let's go."

"Where exactly?"

"To look for a place where we can see the fireworks."

Without letting her reply, Shinichiro started walking somewhere where there weren't many people around since they can't risk it. Anyone with eyes and brains can see that this position isn't a student teacher and student shouldn't be doing.. But tonight they both didn't care.

They weren't with the old and young other.

They weren't with the student-teacher and student.

For them ... They were just spending the festival with the person they loved.

After a few minutes of walking , Shinichiro found a place, an open playgroud and nobody was there, walking to the tallest slide with his girl on his arms , both of their heart synchronized in each beat.

While Shinichiro was looking what's in front. Y/N was looking at him, her eyes admired how beautiful the man who was carrying him tonight, the smile on his face not only gave her a sense of comfort but it made her feel loved.

Shinichiro smiled when he stopped at the tallest slide. Still keeping her carried her eyes went to the night sky and waited for the fireworks to start.

"You can put me down. I ate a lot tonight."

"What if I don't?"

"You'll tire yourself."

"I don't mind."

"Now."

"No."

"Shin."

"Y/N?"

The two looked at each other with different reactions. One was frowning and one was smiling cheekily.

The eye contact kept on until their eyes widened when several colors suddenly light their skins , both heads whipped at the colorful sky and their ears caught on to the cheers of people on the festival about the fireworks.

Y/N couldn't help but smile brightly at the fireworks while Shinichiro was just admiring her face as her eyes looked at the fireworks in awe.

"Pretty.." She mumbled.

"Indeed." Shinichiro replied while looking at her face but her eyes focused on the sky.

Shinichiro kept his eyes on her while Y/N kept hers on the sky, a warm smile on his face as he held the girl tightly in his arms and each second passes by he feels himself for her even more.

Fifteen minutes later, the fireworks had ended but Y/N was still smiling and he whipped her head to his taking him off guard by how close they were.

"Did you see that? The one that was shaped like  a cat! That was so cute!"

'Shit.'

"Uhh.. Yeah, it was color blue , right?"

She frowned. "It was purple."

The awkward silence was stopped when Y/N suddenly heaved a deep sigh and upon relaxing her nerves she finally came upon the realization that their faces where only inches close making her and his heart skip a beat.

Their warm breaths caressing each of their lips and skin with their eyes looking into each other deeply.

Shinichiro held her even tightly taking her by surprise and he leaned down, pressing his forehead against hers and now their lips were just hovering from each other. One move can end up them kissing.

Y/N who was blushing furiously went even more red when Shinichiro suddenly closed his eyes and let out an exasperated sigh, he was really doing everything to hold himself back.

Slowly opening his eyes, he looked straight into hers and she could see something and she felt it.

A deep feeling in both of their chest.
Like a fire that immediately needed to be quenched.

Opening his mouth, he whispered against her lips making it brush with his while mainting the eye contact.. He spoke up with a tone only the two of them can hear.

"Should I kiss you tonight?"
