Dominic's P.O.V

There she was. My newly purchased 2010 Chevy Camaro in all her black glory. I had finally saved up enough money from working summers at my dad's golf club. Although I came from wealthy parents, I never asked them to buy me anything. Like my dad, I believe things should be earned by hard work. Not just handed to you like so many of my wealthy friends. Plus, my dad wants me to get the hang of it, with me just finishing up my two-year business major; I plan on taking it over some day. Hopefully not for a while though, I'm only 20 and my dad is still as healthy as can be.

Just as I was thinking about the future, my phone rang. I glanced at the caller ID to see my buddy Tyler's name.

"Yes?" I answered.

"Eyyy my man. Did ya get her?"

"Yeah Ty, she's sitting right in front of me." Tyler made an almost girlish squeal that made me bring the phone away from my right ear.

"Well, I'm at the park! Bring her here!!" The park is where Tyler and I always go. He's really the only true friend I have. So I agreed to meet him there.

"Alright be there in about 10 minutes." I hung up the phone and for the first time opened the door to my car, and slid in. It was nice. Really nice... I smirked that all the hard work I put in the past few years paid off. I started the engine and she purred like a cat. I booked it out of the lot, leaving only dust and skid marks in my path.

I arrived at the small park and pulled into the even smaller lot. There wasn't much here, just a basketball court and a tiny playground, which had a lot to it actually.

Tyler was sitting on a nearby bench, but as soon as he saw me he came sprinting over. I got out and he immediately started making circles around it. I laughed at the shear joy on his face.

"You like?" I asked him after he slowed down a bit.

"Shit dude. This is so awesome!" I laughed at that. Tyler was the one friend who didn't grow up in a wealthy family. I think that's why we were so close. We were opposites in every way, but we could always count on each other and were true. He made me strive to be a good person, because that's what he was.

And, there's one more thing. He was also a werewolf, like me. We don't have packs though, that's just an old tale. Well, I suppose some like us travel together, but it's not a so called "thing." However, mates are a true tale for wolves. Tyler and I haven't found ours yet. Some wolves find them when they are young, other when they are older. We just know that it'll happen eventually.

"Can I take it for a drive?" Tyler smiled. I nodded my head, tossed him the keys, and headed for the passenger side.

It was starting to become unbearably hot in Napa CA. Especially out on the golf course. Although my dad is starting to have me do more management work rather than serving, I still like to participate and help my coworkers. My dad, John, really branched out his once strictly adult golf club. It used to just be a bar and a huge course. Men would usually come up on a weekend to spend time with their buddies, or even make a business deal. But my mom loved kids. She passed away when I was 13 from breast cancer. My dad literally lost a part of his soul when she died. They were soul mates after all. Anyway, her dream was to have a kid's section on the same land of my dad's golf club. So, out of pure love and remembrance, he built a mini golf and a mini arcade for kids. I know she would have loved it if she were still here.

I was in between the kids building and the adult building pulling out some of the weeds. They always get really bad during the springtime. I could hear kids laughing and running around. A slight breeze drifted my way and I sighed as I was slightly relieved from the hot sun. But that's when it hit me, the smell I mean. It was beautiful and magnificent in every way. I lifted my head in the direction the breeze came from. It was coming from the mini golf course outside. I shook my head and went back to pulling the weeds. Sweat was dripping off of me, so I decided to go inside and grab a drink.
