Chapter 11: Confrontation

Sab's POV

Hindi ko mapigilan yung paa ko na lumapit sa kanila. Nakita ko yung babae na tinutuyo si Troy gamit yung towel, habang yung isa niyang kamay hawak hawak ang kamay ni Troy? Naglaho ang mga tao sa paligid namin. Wala akong ibang makita kundi yung babae, kasama si Troy, si Troy. He was supposed to be with me right now. I have waited for him, I thought I could surprise him with a gift and say happy birthday to him, I thought I can make this day special to him. But, what's this?

Diba may girlfriend na siya? Ako ang girlfriend niya, diba? Kontrata, oo alam ko. Pero nagusap kami. May agreement kami. At ito? Hindi yun kasali dun. Girlfriend niya ako diba? diba? Tapos ito? Anong nangyayari dito?

"Sab?" Troy says under his breath. Hindi ko na namalayan na nakita na pala ako ni Troy kasi nakatingin lang ako dun sa babae niyang kasama. Wow, Troy, you looked shocked. What is this?

I stare at him. I do not know what words will I spit out! A-ang sakit. Nasasaktan ako?

"Troy a-ano yan?" I gesture at the girl beside him. Sana relative, sana kapatid, sa---

"Sab, I'll explain."

The words are already enough for me to burst in tears. Parang hindi ko gusto ang kasunod na sasabihin niya. Gusto kong sabihin sa kanya na nag seselos ako. Oo, nagseselos ako. Bakit ako magseselos? Kahit naman gustuhin kong sabihin, hindi ko naman kaya. Kontrata lang. Ano nga ba ang karapatan ko? Hindi ko nga alam kung bakit nagkakaganito ako. Gusto kong sabihin sa kanya yung mga gusto kong sabihin pero pinangungunahan ako ng emosyon ko! Tumalikod nalang ako at nagsimula nang maglakad papalayo.

"Sab!"

I heard him chasing me behind.

"Sab, please!"

I stop. I stop running away from this situation. I have to atleast face this.

I turned around and saw him. Saw his face. The Troy I have always dreamed to be with.

"Sab, please understand me, I---

"Spit it, Troy." A harsh voice from my mouth. I can't help it. It's too much. The pain, it is too much.

He walks closer for me to meet his gaze. I tried to avoid it, but he won't let me. He can now see the tears falling from my eyes.

"Sab, the girl you saw earlier. She... she is my girlfriend.

"She is not with a contract or something. She is my real girlfriend. I try to hide her from Louise, I do not want her getting hurt.

"I am so sorry, Sab. I wish you can understand me. I have texted you already this morning telling you to not come here anymore, that is why I'm also surprised to see you here.

"Sab, understand me."

I try my best not to burst in tears. I take his hand and hold it. I hold both so tight. So tight. I let go as I left my gift inside his hands.

"Happy birthday." I force a smile, then vanish to the crowd.

I run, not feeling the rain hitting my skin. I just run. I let my feet take me. I don't know where am I going. I don't care. I just want to get the hell out of here!
