After Octopath Traveler II...
Everything was over. The journey ended. Everyone moved on their lives.
Ochette now protected Toto'haha, be the leader of her town and eat wonderful meat every day. She didn't need anything else.
Castti was now a traveling apothecary, helping everyone in need when she was called. She decided to reunite talented apothecarys from all Solistia and create the new "Apothecaries of Aid".
Throné lived just as she wanted to. Free. Making her own decisions. Traveling wherever she wanted to, with her little dog. Meeting people. Laying peacefully in the grass. She was told she'd never be free. But she was now.
Osvald, as always, studied about what he was interested in. He had found the Ultimagic, in "love", but there were still lots of things to learn about. He looked at the advances of his daughters memories, Helena, that were improving accordingly. He could soon reunite with her, and nothing made him happier.
Partitio continued spreading his greatness everywhere he want to. He helped people with their merchant businesses, helped people with their inventions, and maintained his huge company with Mr Locke, now the leading one of all Solistia.
Agnea was a star. The biggest star. She was known as "The Shiniest Star". She performed her dances at the best stadios, making everyone Happy. Her smile would make them smile. And she couldn't ask for anything better.
Hikari was now the King of Ku. There couldn't have been a better leader, a companion, and a friend. He didn't like to wear the crown, as he felt he was one citizen more of Ku. And his people felt It too. They loved their King, that ended the battles, the bloodshed, the fear. It was a peaceful kingdom, with the perfect King.
And... Only one Traveler was left. Temenos, the Cleric. But, what could he do now? He felt lost. He didn't want their journey to end in the first place. He didn't want to be alone again. Roi died. The Pontiff died. Crick...dead too. He was even betrayed by Mindt.
He had found the truth. Not a pleasant one, by the way. But, at what cost? Everyone he held dear In the past was now gone. Every night, he had nightmares about them. Telling him to help them. Telling him to stop. But he couldn't stop. After all, doubt is what he does...He suddenly woke Up. Sweat running across his face. Panting heavily. His body a trembling mess. He clenched his teeth. Again. This again...
He flopped onto his bed, and sighed. He wiped away what was left of the tears on his eyes. He looked at the ceiling. He was tired of looking at that dreadful ceiling everyday. "I should probably do something today."Temenos woke up from his bed. He opened the fridge. Empty. "Wasn't hungry anyways". He then had a shower, and put on his usual cleric clothes. The cape hunging over his shoulders. Just like C-
He shook off his head. "Don't think about that now". He prepared himself mentally to go to the Church, put on a gentle smile, and got out of his house.
Whispers. So many whispers...
People knew perfectly that he was one of the famous "Octopath Travelers". They also new that, instead of being the leader of a town, the King of a kingdom, the best scholar, apothecary, thief, merchant or dancer, he was just some cleric that killed their leaders and left them like a headless animal. An Inquisitor that didn't really believe in the Gods. Less in the faithful. He was known as a "hound", for nosing around where he shouldn't. No mystery could escape his eyes. No lie.
But he was a liar.He sighed internally, still with that smile plastered on his face, as he walked to the Church, hearing people talk about him as he passed by. "Do I even belong here?"
He finally got to the Church, where he was greeted by his companions in work. There weren't more than that, and would never be.
