Deceived Me

Chapter 31:

They finally reached Stella's house. Alice knew her address but she never got to come here. She didn't know why in this life when she had given up everything, she achieved so much. When in last life, she fought until her heart bled out, until she couldn't take it anymore, and then even when she had finally given up for any hopes, when she had even stopped dreaming about looking at Stella again, the fate played such a game with her and totally broke her down.

They rang the bell. Alice felt quite nervous as she held the bouquet and gidt while Stella held the fruit basket.

Soon, the door opened. Celine was dressed in a casual slim skirt and t-shirt. They were different and mature style. She had a scarf in her neck hanging loosely down her waist. She was also very beautiful as expected. She was much more beautiful and different than how she saw on video calls. And now she could see the glaring similarities and differences between her and Stella.

" Good morning Mama." Stella smiled and stepped inside as her mother stepped aside. Alice only got her senses back then and also followed her inside. After taking off her shoes, she faced Stella's mother and greeted her respectfully.

" Good morning, Aunty. Thank you for having me."

Celina was also stunned when she saw Alice. While she searched for Alice, she only searched through name. She wasn't a missing person so she didn't need a photo.

She was stunned because of the unique beauty Alice possessed. Alice was a mix blood. She was beautiful beyond words and the way her eyes stared at you deeply, it makes one feel like she could see through your soul.

Hearing Alice greet her, she returned to her senses and greeted her back with a smile. Then they heard Stella who had already stepped into the living room.

" If both of you have finished greeting each other, please come in."

Celina smiled helplessly at her daughter but this action of her also made her realise how important Alice must be. Stella acts very mannerly when there are guests. She acts upright and wouldn't joke around like this. She only does this with her or someone who she considers as close as a family.

They both went inside. Stella had put the fruit basket on the table. Alice gave her the bouquet and said.

" Aunty, this is a small gift from me."

" Why are you children becoming adults? There wasn't a need for this all."

" Aunty, I am just trying to be respectful."

This few minutes gave Celina an amazing impression of Alice. She had to say people like Alice were rare to find. It wasn't just her look, her mannerism and her personality, they created an amazing auto around her which left a lasting impression. If this girl is her daughters new partner, she had to say her daughters choice exceeded her imagination. And her daughter really got lucky.

They sat down. Alice and Celina were both looking at Stella. Stella who sat relaxedly suddenly sat up straight. She has yet to introduce them. She wasn't really nervous but both Alice and her mothers reaction made her feel a little tense too. She could see Alice was really nervous and wanted to reassure her but she has yet to introduce her.

" So Mama, this is Alice... We are back together." Stella said slowly as if trying to let a bomb blast slowly.

Of course, it was a shock. Celina had her eyes wide as she looked back at Alice. She never expected this beautiful woman to be Alice.

They searched for her for year's. She only stopped a year and half before her daughters graduation. She never thought the person they looked for up and down would ever come back.

When she finally digested a little bit of this news, she looked back at her daughter. Stella looked her in the eyes. Her eyes said it all.

Celina had mixed feelings about the situation and couldn't say anything. She looked between them with a complicated gaze.

" I... I see. You guys talk, I'll just be back in a minute to bring the snacks." Celina said with a little formal smile. Then she left.

As soon as she left, Alice looked at Stella with a heartbroken expression. She looked so sad.

" Hey, don't worry. I know my Mama. She is not angry or upset. She is just shocked by the sudden news. Believe me, okay?"

Hearing Stella's word, she felt better for a moment but it didn't help much. She wasn't nervous just because of nothing. Her fears seems to come true. She really wanted to be liked by the most important person in Stella's life. That's why she felt so sad over it.

" Okay listen. I'll go and talk to my mother to see what's she's thinking. But I am sure she is not upset with you. So please don't worry too much. I'll be back."

Alice nodded while thinking about what to do. Stella didn't feel good seeing her like this. She didn't know why Alice was getting so sensitive over it.
