Mei's POV
After I came home from a long, embarrassing day of school, I expected to come home to a nice quiet house where I could relax. That did not happen because of my parents.
Don't even get me started about my parents. They were the most annoying parents in the world. My father never pays attention to me and only ever believes whatever my mother says. My mother was a bipolar freak who was also a control freak. She dictated every aspect of my life. I sometimes wished I could run her over with my car, and then stretch her on one of those stretcher things they used back in the days, set her body on fire and then dump her in a lake. Unfortunately I couldn't because I would go to jail and never get my chance to be popular or to go out with Dean.
I grumpily made my way in to the kitchen to make my presence known to my parents, before my mother had a panic attack after assuming I had been kidnapped.
"I'm home!" I told my parents who were sitting at the table as if they were waiting for my arrival. Creepy or what?
"Hi. How was school? Never mind, take a seat." My mother rushed out. Now this was weird. I felt like we were about to have an intervention or something.
"What's going on?" I asked my mother.
"Your dad and I are going to Japan for a month" she replied. I don't know why she was making this into such a big deal since she goes to Japan all the time, even if it's never been for this long.
"Why are you telling me? You usually leave a note for me to find in the morning when you've both left." I voiced my thoughts. My father who had been silent since I came home finally looked up at me.
"Don't speak so rudely to your mum!" My father scolded me with a scowl on his face. See! I can't even ask questions around here. My father was giving me the look he always gave me when I have to apologise for something I didn't even do. So I was left with no other choice but to do just that.
"Sorry for being rude mother." I apologised. In return I got a horrified look from my mother. I didn't know why she was horrified. All I did was apologize but then I realized that I addressed her as mother instead of mum. Mother makes her feel older.
"What did you just call me?" She said giving me a pointed stare.
"Mum!" I replied quickly.
"That's what I thought." she replied smugly. "Any way the reason I'm telling you that your dad and I are going to Japan is because you will not be staying here."
I wasn't really paying attention to what she was saying until she said I wasn't going to be staying in the house. I parents always left me at home and asked a relative to come stay with me for the time they were going to be away. So when I heard this I couldn't help but jump to conclusions.
"What do you mean? Are you taking me with you?" I could feel the excitement bubbling in me. This was the first time my parents were ever taking me along with them. But my mother as usual had to burst my bubble.
