Chapter 1

"Addy!" Melinda calls to me through the hall. I sip my iced latte and wait for her to catch up to me. She walks beside me, and fills me in.
"There's a new girl at school," Melinda says, out of breath. I immediately stop walking and turn to her.
"It's the second week of school. Why is she here so late?" I demand. Melinda shrugs.
"Find out who she is." I order, and go into my science class.

"I found out that her name is Opal," Melinda tells us after school. I nod, and type it into my iPhone.
All of us sit in a circle, with Me, then Claire on my right, Gabby on my left, and Melinda in front of me.
"Did you get her schedule?" Gabby asks the important question. Melinda shakes her head.
"Alright. Guys, let's get to work," Claire reminds us. I groan, but we start on our Math homework.
