Chan had woken up at 3am the next morning and started packing his bags. He still was hoping that this was all just a bad dream and that he would wake up soon. However, reality hit him when, at 5am, his mother walked into his room making sure he was awake and had everything packed. Chan carried his bags downstairs trying not to start crying again. When he got downstairs, he saw his best friend standing in the living room. "What are you doing here so early?" Chan asked still half asleep. Hongjoong pretended to be offended and then chuckled, "can I not go with my best friend to the airport to see him off?" Chan smiled and walked over hugging the boy tightly. "I wish it was all just a bad dream," he mumbled hiding his face in the boy's neck. Hongjoong smiled and rubbed his back before kissing his head, "me too bestie me too, but we'll still get to see each other and we'll talk everyday. I promise." The two boys helped Chan's parents pack up the car and then climbed into the back seat together. The ride to the airport was very long which gave the boys time to hang out with each other. When they got to the airport, the boys climbed out of the car and took the bags inside. They still had 20 minutes before the flight started boarding. As soon as the car was unloaded, the boys went and found somewhere to sit down and watch videos on the older boy's computer. The two women stood there talking for what seemed like hours. Soon their plane was called and the Bang family boarded the plane after saying their goodbyes. Hongjoong ran to the window to watch as his best friend board the plane. As he watched it take off, he could feel tears slowly rolling down his cheeks. "Mama you promise I'll see Chan again?" Hongjoong asked as he ran to his mother crying. "I promise," she replied as they stood there watching the plane take off. His mother picked him up and carried him back to the car. Hongjoong sat in the back and stared at the necklace that was the last thing he had from his best friend. Chan sat on the plane and stared at his bracelet before whispering "I love you and I miss you already." He fell asleep clinging to the bracelet. Hongjoong sat staring out the window hoping he could see the plane that was taking his best friend away. They hated that Chan had to leave, but they hated that it was such short notice. Chan thought he would hate his parents forever for this and in a way he wasn't wrong. He did end up resenting them for most of his life.
