Chapter 4~
The Pandavas were slightly surprised at how the girl spoke Sanskrit, they almost couldn't grasp it. Nakul was the one that answered while pointing towards himself "Nakul, Panduputra", Aku's eyes widened as she thought that she had somehow made it to Mahabharata's era, she quickly put aaside her emotions and asked "Kalapradarshan?" she asked this just to make sure in which timeline she was. The pandavas seemed surprised but soon arjun spoke "devi did you come here to see the kalapradarshan?" as soon heard the word see, she knew that she arrived right at the beginning of the epic, she nodded her head and asked "Panduputr Arjun?", he seemed surprised but nodded his head "Yes devi, my name is Arjun, what is your name?" Akruti understood that he was asking for her name "Akruti" she said while pointing towards herself, guru maa then quickly sooed away the pandavas and helped akruti change in to a simple lengha and insisted that she wears light jewelry atleast, akruti tried to deny soon gave in.

After 2 hours gurumaa finally agreed to show aku the camp layout.
"This here is the Rasoi where I will make food for everyone tonight" Kripi said, smiling at the girl who was innocent as a flower. Aku understood that this was the temporary rasoi "I help?" she said in Sanskrit poorly. "Yes, Of course you can! Are you sure? I would really like your help since there are so many people to feed" Kripi said with a smile, she was really happy and glad that now there was a person to help her in the rasoi, she started to show Aku where the spices were and also told her the recipe of the food which was going to be cooked for the dinner. After an hour or so of explaining and informing her about the tools and spices, they both got to work and with kripi explaining in between, the food was ready sooner due to more people working. Kripi, then soon asked Ashwatthama to call all the pandavas and kauravas slong with his father, Ashwatthama looked at the girl who was stirring the pot of kheer and said "Of course, but mother who the girl, did she tell her name? where is she from? Why was she lost and bleeding in the forest?" Ashwatthama asked with curiosity, his mother looked at him and answered "Her name is Akruti, she hails from a kingdom out of aryavarth, she says she came from her kingdom to explore aryavarth as they had only recently found out about aryavarth, Now move along and call them!"
Aku looked at ashwatthama who nodded towards his mother and joined hand towards aku slightly and moved out of the temporary rasoi. Aku smiled and joined hands in return and then went back to stirring the pot.
-----
The students and the teacher were called by ashwatthama as instructed by His mother, kripi. Akruti and kripi started to serve the food, some of the kauravas stared at akruti, the panadavas friendly smiled and joined their hands, duryodhan also did the same, while dushassan stared at akruti with a lust filled look.
Ashwatthama smiled at the girl before returning to his plate. Akruti went back to kripi who smiled at her and they both sat down at another table they served themselves food eating it while they talked or err..tried to akruti tried her best to understand. Kripi was pleasantly surprised that akruti was a girl who enjoyed flute and sitar. She told akruti that tomorrow they would go and collect some flowers to make akruti some flower made jewelry, akruti was shocked and tried to deny but kripi insisted. Akruti smiled at the older woman and they both ate in peace.
Soon enough they both were done, the men had already picked up their own leaf made plates and glasses. Kripi then led akruti to her own tent where she told akruti and she would be staying since they were the only woman and drone could share ashwatthama's tent. Akruti felt immensely grateful and thanked her.

They were both sleeping when akruti felt a bile burning up in her throat, her eyes tearing up as it hit her...she would never see her family again...she would never meet ashish, her younger brother again, she wouldn't keep her head in her dadi's lap and she would never eat her mother's rotis again, she would never argue with her father over something as petty as the tv remote. She felt scared and empty with all those possibilities hovering in her head, she squeezed her eyes closed not willing to accept any of this.
Kripi who was a light sleeper felt the girl's inner turmoil but was unknown to how deep it was. She sat up and took the girl's head in her lap, softly whispering with a caring smile "Putri, cant sleep? What are so worried over?" Although akruti couldn't understand her, she whimpered scared her big brown eyes seeking comfort from the older woman "Mata, I...I am incredibly scared. I have no one dear to me any more...I am...I don't know what to do" Kripi could only figure out a few words in Sanskrit. She sighed and ran her fingers thru akruti's hair saying wisely "putri, when someone is dear to you they won't ever be able to leave you for your soul has already captured a small part of theirs in that one moment you first saw them", Akruti sobered up a little but still looked at kripi with scared tearful eyes she said "mata, thank you...but how...i-...who is dear to you". Kripi smiled and looked at her softly saying "my putra ashwatthama is the dearest to me, dear child" Akruti nodded understanding her slightly.
That night akruti felt peace sleeping next a woman who had comforted her, all night kripi's loving hand caressed her black open hair.
