Hey guys :) So this isn't my first time writing but it is my first time posting on a website like this. Tell me what you guys think :) I had to write a One Shot fanfic based on "Moments" by the wonderful One Direction. Hope you guys like it.
Staring down to meet the gaze of his best friend, Liam, Niall smiled weakly, knowing his time on this earth would soon be up.
"Don’t cry, Niall. Don’t cry. For Liam's sake, don’t cry" Niall repeated the words in his head trying his best to smile.
Inhaling a shaky breath, Niall willed himself to look at Liam noticing him growing paler.
"Naill," Liam whispered weakly reaching out for his best mates hand, knowing his time was short.
"Yeah, mate?" Niall responded, kneeling down beside Liam's hospital bed.
"Don’t get too upset once I'm gone. I promise I will always watch over you, mate" Liam whispered only allowing Niall to hear this. "Live your life to the fullest. For me" he whispered again, growing weaker with every shaky breath he took.
"Liam, don’t- don’t leave me." Niall whispered as a single tear rolled down his cheek.
"Promise you'll stay strong Niall, for me. Promise" Liam managed.
Niall averted his eyes, looking at the ceiling blinking repeatedly willing no more tears to fall.
"I promise." Niall said although he didn’t want to.
"I love you, Niall." Liam responded before the twinkle left his eyes, and all the colour ran from his face.
"I love you too, man" Niall whispered to Liam, hoping against all hope that Liam would get the colour back in his face and the twinkle back in his eyes. Hoping that he wouldn’t be left holding his lifeless hand in his own, that he would smile just once more. His voice broke and he let all the tears come out like a river, unable to hold them in any longer.
"NO!" he screamed out slamming his fists against the wall. He sat down in the seat beside Liam's bed and covered his face with his hands sobbing uncontrollably.
He thought back to the happy moments. The moments Liam and he shared together, everything seemed perfect. Oh how he wished he could go back in time and relive those moments once more.

"Liam! Not funny! Give it here." Niall yelled at Liam who was holding his microphone just out of reach, laughing.
"Whatcha gonna do about it Irish boy?" Liam taunted making Niall giggle. At that moment, Niall jumped up and snatched the microphone from Liam's grasp and stumbled slightly when he landed. Liam had caught him and they continued to laugh. Niall looked up at Liam and noticed his eyes sparkle like they always did when he was happy.
"What would I do with out you?" Niall said realising just how much of a big brother Liam had become to him.
"You would probably find yourself in a lot of trouble quite frequently" Liam said tugging Niall into his body and hugging him.
"So, big bro, now that I have my microphone back, there is nothing stopping me from doing this" Niall stated cheekily before whacking Liam with a spoon Niall just so happened to have in his back pocket.

Still sitting next to his lifeless body, Niall refused to move. He didn’t want to leave Liam. Not like this. All of his emotions running high right now, he couldn’t think clearly.
"Come back to me Liam. You cant leave. Not like this. You were supposed to get married and have kids and grow old with someone. You weren't supposed to die until you were old. I was supposed to die with you. Why did you have to go?" Niall choked out between sobs. "We were supposed to grow old and catch up every other day. You weren't supposed to leave this young. We had planned out our life. You wanted to live in an old cottage along with your wife. I'll make sure you get there, mate... I'll make sure you get there." he continued quietly as the words just slipped out of his mouth. By now he was in hysterics and couldn’t grasp anything rational. All he wanted was for his best friend, his brother, to wake up and assure him everything as going to be all right.
