*Victoria's Point of View*

I had passed out yesterday after the trial, mostly because of the heavy amount of emotional strain it caused. I had no energy left in me, especially after tending to Michael's burns so heavily. Harry must have come in some time after I did because I woke up to his arm around my waist and his chest pressed to my back. The poor lad had to banish one of his best friends the other day; I would not be shocked if he was not feeling his best today. Betrayal is the worst emotion to feel out of all, especially coming from someone so close to you.

All of a sudden, I hear a loud gasp for air and cry come from across the hall-- Destiny. She must have had another vision, and she was panicking deeply. I used my vampire speed to rush downstairs, grab some water and a cold compress, and run back up to where she was. She was in there alone, with her head between her knees taking long strained breaths. I put the cool compress on the back of her neck and gave her the water to drink. I took her hand, and slowly helped her to regain a normal breathing rate to calm her down. When she felt strong enough, she began to speak.

"It was horrible. Taylor knows all our allies and battle strategies. She knows our weaknesses. She was sitting on a cold black throne with her leaders right in front of her. They talked about everything, but it was all muffled. They are coming, Victoria, and soon. We're completely unprepared--" She spoke shakily. She started to panic again, but with my help, she was able to stop the attack before it got really out of control. That is when Luke, Calum, Michael, and Ashton came charging in.

"What's wrong, my ladies. We heard a cry from this room." Calum spoke.

"Just a vision. Don't worry, I'm sure Niall know by now so he'll tell you about it" Destiny spoke silently, almost in a whisper.

"Well actually, he and the others just left a little bit ago to do some outside recruiting for your army. They won't be back until very late tonight, so they told us to look after you and make sure you do at least some training today." Luke informed.

"Well, I won't be doing as much due to my face, but I will do as much as I can to help you." Michael added.

"Then I guess we'll train with you today. Let's get some breakfast, shall we?" I asked. We all bounded down the stairs to the kitchen. All the boys raided the refrigerators and cupboards for food while Des and I stuck with some bear blood. Unfortunately, Michael was having a bit of difficulty with his food, so he opted for a glass of blood as well. However, he had to drink it with a straw; not like he cared anyways. He needed to keep his strength up in order to truly heal up, so that meant he needed to feed every day until he was better. As much as he wanted pizza, it was just blood for him for another couple of days.

We all sat around the tables sharing stories from our pasts. But I then began to realize that we had absolutely no clue as to how the boys got here in the first place.

"Hey boys, what are your stories? Like, how did you become what you are today?" I asked.

"I was born a shapeshifter. I grew up like any normal child, until I was about 13 when I started to change. I trained for a few years, and once I became the age that I am, I just stopped myself there, and I have been this way ever since." Luke explained.

"I, like Luke, was born with my gift. However, I didn't start shifting until I was about 16 years old. After that, I aged a few more years because I was so young, and then I just stayed the same. I don't even remember how long its been now." Calum told.

"Thankfully my story has a bit more detail to it. I was at an AC/DC concert. It was around 1982 from what I remember. I was just there rocking out to the music, when this ridiculously sexy blonde came up and started talking to me. Her name was Kayla. She told me all about being a vampire, and then proceeded to give me the bite. I woke up a few days later, I was in a grungy hotel room with Kayla sitting right at the end of the bed waiting for me. We spent years together, just she and I. She had a mate, but he was killed by hunters so nothing happened between us. Just friendship. However, one day, we were caught by hunters. I got away with just the scar on my forehead, but Kayla was not as lucky. I became a nomad, until Luke and Calum found me and took me in. We went through training together, and the rest is history." Michael revealed. I rubbed his shoulder in comfort.

"Unfortunately, my story is not much happier. I became a ghost by protecting my younger siblings, Lauren and Harry. A man tried to kidnap them to spite my family, and I was not going to let that happen if my life depended on it. However, I did not know he was armed, and while Harry and Lauren ran away to get help, the man shot me twice: once in the head and once in the heart. Harry and Lauren got away, and to me, that is all that truly mattered. They are no longer able to see me because they believe me to be dead, but I still watch over them constantly, making sure no harm befalls them." Ashton spoke solemnly.

"Well, I am glad that they are alive and well. You take great care of them even though they cannot see you, and that takes true nobility. Thank you for sharing." Destiny replied calmly. The boys mumbled a 'thank you' and continued to eat/ drink.

After all our breakfasts were finished, and we cheered ourselves up, we went out to train in the clearing. We went with each boy individually for a few hours, and then we did an entire group training session. However, Michael unfortunately had to sit out because his wounds were still to fresh to do major combat and fighting, much to his disdain. By the time we finished up, the sun was setting over the horizon. We all headed back inside for a nice supper.

As we sat and ate, we told more stories and learned even more about each other. Then we got on to the subject of mates.

"I hope I find my mate one day. I bet she has beauty like no other. She's kind and intelligent. She cares only for the feelings of others. I don't care what she is or what she looks like, but if she has a pure heart, I am sold." Ashton explained. Des and I 'aaawed' at how romantic he was.

"I hope she's tall, and athletic. She loves to travel and do daring things. She doesn't care about the future or the past. Just what is going on in that moment. I know that she will be a bit out there, but that's fine by me." Calum added.

"Mine has got to be musical. I bet she can sing like no other. She is a bit clumsy, and she can be a bit naive, but that won't matter when she's with me. We'd sing our days away together, just she and I. Nothing else would matter." Luke expressed. Needless to say, Destiny and I were both swooning as they spoke about how their mates would be.

"Well I already know who my mate is. I just can't wait to meet her. I know that she is my mate and all, and that we are destined to be together for all of eternity, but I sill get butterflies over the fact that she's mine, you know. I've seen pictures and heard legendary stories about the work that Jazmine has done, but knowing that she is my mate makes me even more excited to be with her. I just can't wait to make her mine." Michael spoke wistfully.

"You guys are so sweet! You will make the best mates ever, and I absolutely cannot wait for you to meet them so you can tell us about them!" I exclaimed. They all blushed and smiled.

After our supper was finished, we just relaxed until the other boys came home. Michael, Des, and I were too worked up to really go to sleep, so we all decided to patrol together (mainly so we could look after him). All was calm.

Well... for now at least.
