The moon was almost full outside. The sky was cloudless that night. The town of Beacon Hills slept peacefully under this magnificent sky. Its rays pierced through the foliage of the city forest. The city forest was the best training ground for enhancing our supernatural abilities.I'd been racing with my cousin Eli for almost an hour, and was just starting to overtake him when I heard a noise in the distance. I couldn't quite work out where it was coming from. This suspicious noise made me lose the race to him. Eli Hale was my favorite cousin. We literally grew up together. Eli had long, wavy brown hair and blue-green eyes. From an early age, we loved to compete against each other because we both have supernatural sides, but his is more developed than mine. We're werewolves, but unfortunately, for reasons I don't know, my wolf side hasn't yet manifested itself, and this worries my father a lot. Arriving at the place where we'd started, my father was waiting for us. My father, Scott, is a tall man with olive skin, dark brown eyes and dark brown hair. He's also a werewolf, but not just any werewolf. He's a True Alpha. My father looked at us and said:- You've improved your speed. But you still lack concentration.- There was a strange noise in the forest. I said. I couldn't identify it properly.- I know, but I hope one day you'll be able to bring out your wolf side and finally identify all the noises without losing focus on your objective.- Uncle Scott," Eli interjects. Are you really sure she'll be able to wake him up? - Yes, because she already has all the supernatural abilities of a werewolf. We'll just have to wait and see. Right, then. Training's over for tonight. You two get in the car. School tomorrow.- Can we go for one more walk in the forest? At least as far as the Nemeton stump?" I asked. Come on, please! Come on, please! - All right," replied my father. And then you go straight back to the car.

My father gave the starting signal. Eli and I ran like animals trying to escape death. The forest was getting denser and the air almost unbreathable. I could hardly control all my senses. I stopped for a moment. Eli was far ahead of me, probably already at the tree stump. I sat down on a tree trunk and quietly caught my breath. I was totally exhausted.

After a few minutes, I felt so much better. I quietly resumed my activity. As I resumed my run, I was still distracted by the noise from earlier. I was trying to figure out where the noise was coming from and what it was all about. I decided to drop the source of the noise and continue my run to the stump.I finally saw Eli fooling around on the stump. He saw me and waved from a distance, so I decided to join him in my best sprint.Suddenly, I felt something grab my foot: it was a wolf trap, certainly an old one. I was howling like crazy, when a long howl came out. Eli rushed over to me and started laughing:
- You got your foot caught in a trap like a new wolf coming out for the first time.
- Will you stop messing with me and help me get my leg out of this trap please, I yelled. It hurts like hell.
- Yes, yes, don't worry," he replied. He tried with all his might, but the trap was very complicated to open. It must have been there for a long time and must have rusted over time.
- Will you open it?" I shouted at him. It hurts like hell
.- Yes, yes, two minutes, the trap must be rusty because I can't open it.
- Call my dad, he'll help us soon.
- I think he must have known for a while because we must have been home a long time. By the way, can you explain to me why it took you so long to come, what happened?
- I rested for a few minutes and was distracted by the same noise as before.

Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows. It was my father. He must have been worried about us:
- Talia! Eli! What's taking you so long to come back?
- It's my fault, Dad, because as you can see, my foot's in an old wolf trap and we can't get it open.
- Yes, I see, I'll help you," he replied, rushing to the trap.
And in one fell swoop he managed to remove it from my foot, which healed very quickly. It was the first time I'd ever seen anything like it.
-That's it, the trick's over," he continued. Can anyone tell me who screamed bloody murder?
- I think it was Talia," says Eli. In fact, I thought I saw violet eyes glowing.
- What are you talking about? My eyes aren't violet, they're hazel," I replied. And I just screamed as usual.
- No Sweetheart, it wasn't just a howl, it was a wolf-like roar. And look at your leg, it healed when I opened the trap.
I glanced at the leg: not a scratch or bleed from the trap.
- You're right, it did heal," I said. But wait a second, if I managed to heal and I howled like a wolf, that means...
- Yes, couz, that means you've officially brought out your wolf side," Eli added. I was freaking out. I didn't think it would come out at all today, at least I didn't think it ever would.
- Anyway," replied my father, "I know I should be happy too, but we really need to get home so we can get a good night's sleep and be ready for school tomorrow.
- You're right, can we talk about this tomorrow after school?" Eli asked, yawning.

We walked through the forest in silence until we reached the car. I had many questions about what life was going to be like now. As we got into the car, someone emerged from behind a tree. It was a man in his sixties with short light-brown hair flecked with gray and blue-gray eyes. In his hand was a silver pistol. He walked towards us.My father said, "Children, get in the car and wait quietly. We rushed in. The man walked toward him:
- Good evening Scott. Isn't it a lovely evening for a family outing?
- Hello, Argent. Yeah, you could say that. What are you doing here? I thought you were still in France.
- I came back because there's an old threat in town.
- Who's back? Aren't you telling me that the hunters have returned?
- Unfortunately yes, my friend. Your two little "protégés" in the car will have to be careful," replied Argent as he waved to us.
- Why did they come back today? I thought our truce had scared them away from the state.
- I don't know, but we've got to find out soon.
- Yes, we do. I'd tell them to be careful, especially at school. After they finished their conversation, my father hugged the man and got into the car. As he started the car, the man motioned to him to roll down the window:"Take good care of yourself and the children. If I have any information, I'll let you know." And off he went.

We didn't say a word in the car. My father explained to us who the man he was talking to was: it was Chris Argent, a former werewolf hunter who more or less protects him from the hunters who have just arrived in town. We were so tired that we fell asleep until we reached Eli's house, where Uncle Derek was waiting for us. He already knew the hunters were back. My father and I set off down the road and when we arrived home, I climbed the stairs to my bedroom and collapsed into bed.

Who are these hunters who wish us harm? And what's going to happen to me now that I've unleashed my werewolf side? It took me a long time to answer his questions, but I couldn't find the answer and fell asleep.
