The cabin was just as I had remembered it, A small kitchen and storage area, fireplace with an old wood pile next to it and small bedroom with an old floor TV. I coughed up the dust that had built up in the house after all the years and started ripping off old sheets from the bed to replace with mine, checked to see if the TV still worked at all, and to my surprise it did. I put it on for some background noise as I cleaned off the floors coated in dust and cabinets full of now long molded food.

The process itself didn't take to much time as I thought it would, there was hardly any food left in the kitchen and only a few dead rats on the floor. I sighed with half-hearted satisfaction and took note of everything I was going to need, New food and a proper desk for all of my supplies. But for now though I could probably just shove everything on the kitchen counters and table, I can't imagine I would need the kitchen table for much since I preferred to eat outside most the time and I could probably go into the woods to find a river, it certainly wouldn't kill me to explore more of this part of it.

I decided to prioritize the most important thing; Food. Cleaning off the farm itself would take awhile but I could do it tomorrow, I needed at least some food in my stomach tonight. I bit my lip as I wondered if I should go into town or just look around the woods, I didn't particularly want to have to many conversations, even if this town had been a daydream of mine since I was a kid but running around the forest while it was getting late was a mistake that had been drilled into my head.

I decided to bite the bullet and go into town, I needed to figure out the town's layout anyway, I opened the cabins door and closed it as it creaked behind me, The air was the filled with a warm breeze. I smiled and let the wind blow past me for a few minutes before heading out towards the town, I decided that the path following out from the mailbox was probably the way towards the town and followed the path, The path was made of gravel with little sprouts of grass were popping out of the small rocks some small flowers had also started to grow, I made a mental note to look into the flowers later.

I continued walking down the path until it turned into solid stone and the town came into view, something in me surged, after all the this time dreaming about the town, wishing to be here, I finally was. I couldn't help but still wonder what might have changed from the hazy memories I had of this town since I was here last.

"WATCH OUT!" A voice shot through my thoughts and before I had time to react I was slammed headfirst with a boy around my age with spiked blond hair, "Sorry-" I winced getting up to my feet, offering a hand, "Nah your fine I should have been looking where I was going." The boy apologized, He took my hand and lifted himself up. "Name's Sam, I'm guessing your the new farmer?" He asked me with a friendly smile. I couldn't help but smile a little back and decided it wouldn't hurt to introduce myself, "Yeah that's me, The name's Jux." I responded, I looked at Sam more closely trying to remember any familiarity from last time I was here, He seemed to be the brown-haired boy from a few years back. I guess he dyed his hair.

"Your lip's bleeding." Sam cut through the silence again and I flinched realizing I had been staring at him, I immediately reached for my lip and sure enough, the sticky feeling of blood greeted me, "Ah guess I'll have to put something on it later." I said smiling again, this time to break the awkwardness that grew in the air. "I have some band-aids if you want-" I cut him off, "It's fine really I was just going to go to...whatever general store you have nearby I can just pick some up there." I responded, Sam shook his head, "No, I crashed into you and you just moved here, take it." He offered me a small band-aid and I begrudgingly took it. "Thanks." I said ripping open the band-aid and placing it on my lip. "Do you know where the General Store...is?" I asked, Sam pointed towards a building behind him, "Pierre's shop is back there, Joja's is a bit further of a walk across that bridge" Sam pointed towards a small stone bridge that led over a river, "If your going to Pierre's though I would start walking now, They're probably going to close soon."

"Ah thanks for the band-aid and directions, Have a nice night." I replied trying to sound as nice as I could, ending the conversation and headed towards the store that Sam had pointed towards, "Yeah see ya!" With that Sam picked his skateboard off the ground and started skating towards the south of the town.

When I got to the store it looked like it had been many things before a general store for the town, there was another building attached to it but that one was closed so I assumed this was the store and the giant sign saying "PIERRES" helped confirm that. The store still had a glow emanating from it so I assumed it was still open, I pushed the door and it made a small jingle.

At the counter was a man with graying brown hair and a tired expression on his face, he was looking over some paperwork but as soon as he heard the jingle his head shot up, "Oh you must be the new farmer...Your here awfully late I'm about about to close up - what do you want?" He sounded as tired as he looked.

"Food and Seeds?" I asked him, "Yeah aisles 3 and 2" He pointed over to some small shelves that had the produce. "Thank you...?" I didn't get a response out of him though because he was already back to muttering over paperwork, "Definitely the nicest guy here." I muttered half-heartedly under my breath. I bought mostly just potatoes, they would hopefully get me more money to buy other crops later in the season. I moved on to food and decided to get oatmeal and a couple of fresh berries and supplies for pasta, Not the most luxurious but it would last me the week at least, Maybe a couple more days after that if I got lucky.

I went up to the register and purchased my items, "Have a nice night and return to Pierres for the most persistent deals you'll ever find." I didn't respond, I had enough conversation for one night and besides, I don't think I would get a reply if I tried to continue this one.

I left the shop and the jingle followed with me, with the paper bags full with everything I would need I started heading back towards Sunny Veil.
