Long ago, when magic was around. And the world was still new, there was an academy called Cherub academy for those who practice magic.

How did magic come about exactly? Well, it's a long story including the gods of Olympus.

Back when the human race was new, and the titans were just defeated mere centuries ago, Prometheus chose to question Zeus, king of the gods. Prometheus wanted more for the humans, for their misery to end. They were afraid, and died just as quickly as they were born, only maybe living to have a few kids, and then ultimately dying quickly. There was no fire. No way to see, or cook, or anything like that. On top of that, humans were made with two heads, one completing the other. But, Zeus chose to tear them apart. The two halves would then always be looking for each other. They might never find each other. Once Prometheus realized Zeus wasn't going to actually help the humans, he just wanted to play with them, he went looking for help. But he couldn't find much, until he came to Hecate. She sympathized with the Prometheus and his story, and chose to help. She then helped Prometheus steal fire from Olympus. Zeus was livid. He tried to punish Prometheus and Hecate for their disobedience. But Hecate tricked him with her magic. But to her dismay, and knowing, Zeus did not give up. But Hera told him to calm himself. She told him to be a fair husband, a fair King of gods. He begrudgingly agreed to let Prometheus and Hecate go.
Hecate and Prometheus then got married, and she fell in love with him, and realized that humans stubble around forever, trying to find their other half. So, she wove a spell. On a human's 15th birthday, a color would appear on your wrist, and your soulmate would share the color.
Furthermore, when Hecate and Prometheus had a child, her name was Morgana. She was a goddess of magic like her mother, but with the red fiery hair and spirit of her father. She shared her magic with humans, like how Prometheus shared his fire with humans. Humans with magic came to exist, and then magic schools,

Like Cherubs Academy, where our story begins.

Morgan woke up the sound of pattering rain. it was 6:15 a.m.

I hate this.
Morgan thought.
Morgana (not the goddess) sat there and watched her little brother close his eyes, and crash back into his bed.

"Wake the fuck up coffee beans!"

"wha...." Morgan  muttered under his breath.
"You heard me." Morgana stated
"We're going to be late because of your lazy ass."

"Ughhhhhhhhjuuuuuuuuuu"

"Morganaaaaaaaa- can't I stay in my dorm today?!"
Morgan looked hard at his sister, with his best puppy dog eyes.
"No." Morgana said simply. She looked down at him from where she stood on the rustic mahogany floor with a look that could frighten a Hippogriff into behaving.

So, Morgan had no other choice within reason. He got ready for the day's classes.
As he walked down the halls of Cherub's academy, he admired the stained glass that decorated each window, and the laughing goggles of expressive first years.

He stopped dead in his tracks when he spotted his rival. Merlin.
Merlin smiled when he noticed Morgan's gaze.
Morgan was not falling for it. To Morgan, Merlin was just another 'golden boy'. Another dickhead who managed to score good parents at birth. Merlin's mother being Head Witch of the school, and his father being the ever popular god, Apollo.

Meanwhile, Morgan's parents were terrible. Erebus the primordial god of darkness, and his mother, one of the darkest witches in the history of magic.

Lucky me. Morgan thought.

Even their looks were leagues apart. Merlin had sunshine yellowish blonde hair, and muddled bright hazel eyes that consisted of almost every eye color under the sun. His hair looked soft, and his skin was tanned and his muscles toned.
