6:00pm

"Silence!" Dumbledore shouts, his voice cutting through the ambient noise in the Great Hall.

The food on our table disappears and I clench my jaw, feeling just about how close I am to facing a dragon.

"It is now time for the first task of the Triwizard Tournament! I will be releasing the students by houses and school. But first, all four champions, please join me now." He continues.

Mattheo squeezes my hand and I resist the urge to embrace him. I give him a slight rub with my thumb before standing up from my seat.

"Good luck, Y/N," Pansy says.

"Not that you need it," Mattheo smiles.

I nod in appreciation.

I turn to Draco, seeing him staring at his hands, avoiding eye contact. Deciding that now is not the moment to address his attitude toward me and Harry, I direct my attention toward the aisle, where Viktor is awaiting. I approach him slowly, my legs shaking.

"Are you alright?" He asks, offering his arm.

I take his arm, steadying myself. "Thanks, I'm alright for now. Not sure about later." I reply as we make our way to Dumbledore.

"Don't worry too much. We're not going to let anything happen to you," He reassures.

"I appreciate it, Viktor. You're gonna do amazing."

We take our stance on either side of Dumbledore, watching as Harry and Fleur join us.

"Before we begin, let's give it up for our players! Viktor Krum from Durmstrang!"

The Durmstrang students go wild, shouting and chanting with their deep voices.

"Fleur Delacour from the Beaubatons!"

The students from her school clap collectively and politely.

"And lastly, our very own Y/N Y/L/N and Harry Potter from Hogwarts!"

The students cheer loudly for us, causing a slight smile to form on my face.

I spot Hermione and Ron at the Gryffindor table, Hermione wooing for us as Ron pouts in his seat.

"Yeah, Y/N!" Pansy screams, instigating the rest of the Slytherin house to follow.

"Slytherin for the win!"

"Slytherin for the win!" Blaise chants, the whole table chanting along with him.

My face grows red, the admiration making me a bit shy.

Dumbledore motions us down the middle of the room, through the exit. As we leave the room, the whole of the students cheer for their players.

As we exit the school, my eyes land on row if carriages awaiting us to bring us over to the stadium. My eyes brighten as we approach the first carriage being lead by three beautiful pegasi. We all settle onto the seats before they start running to the edge of the cliff. I gasp, seeing how close we are to falling into the lake. At the last moment, the pegasi spread their wings, flying us high above the ground. I take a deep breath, taking in the fresh air and enjoying the view.

The carriage lands beside the champion tent outside the arena. Entering, we find multiple sections separated by curtains, each equipped with a bed and a change of clothes for each of us.We all enter the sections and close the curtains. Before changing my wardrobe, I lie myself down on the bed. I stare up at the top of the tent. As nervous as I am, I smile and shut my eyes to take a moment to appreciate that I am in this moment. I am a Hogwarts student, taking part in the Triwizard Tournament. I feel like such a main character--hopefully one that survives.
