GOD, ROSELYN wished their was a flight of stairs she could throw herself down right about now. She knew this was going to happen tonight, but she didn't expect it to catch her off guard.

Everything was going great, it was awkward but it was nice. Civil.

Things were about to get uncivil.

Lorelai was the first to speak out of the two siblings. She sent a look to her father, narrowing her eyes at him "speaking of which? How is that a speaking of which?"

Richard ignored his youngest daughter and support his wine. "Their doing very well in California."

California...to be honest Roselyn didn't know where John was. And she was perfectly fine with that. Why did Richard have to fuck it up.

"Their internet start up goes public next month. This could mean bug things for him. Both of your fathers are very talented men."

"They know." Lorelai frowned, looking at the kids and then her sister who looked like she was about to explode with anger. Danielle moved her hands up and down and made a funny noise, signalling she didn't quite agree. Her facial expressions were enough to put a small smile on her mothers face.

Emily glared at her blonde haired granddaughter, sending a look of disapproval to her. Danielle shrugged, unbothered with her Grandmothers disappointment.

"They always were smart boys. You two must take after them." Richard carried on, not caring about anyone's feelings towards the two morons he spoke so highly of.

Lorelai scoffed and removed her napkin from her lap and slammed it down on the table. "speaking of which, i'm gonna get a coke." she stood up from the table "or a knife."

Roselyn stood up from her spot and grabbed her glass before following her sister. She knew that if Danielle really didn't wanna be in that room she would have left by now. Danielle doesn't waste her time like that.

Lorelai was at the sink, scrubbing the dirty cooking pan furiously. She silently walked over, grabbing a dish towel to dry the clean dishes.

"They honestly want to make me become an alcoholic." Roselyn mumbled, grabbing the wet bowl from Lorelai's hand. The younger sister hummed, "no kidding."

Emily came through the swinging door, a bored look on her face as she stared at her daughters. "Lorelai. Roselyn. Come back to the table."

Roselyn rolled her eyes, ignoring her mother as she folded the dish towel and laid in on the counter top. Lorelai turned around, a furious look on her face "is this what it's gonna be like every Friday night? We're going to come over and you're gonna attack us."

"You're both being very dramatic." Emily rolled her eyes at them. Roselyn scoffed under her breath "dramatic, huh yeah we're the dramatic ones."

"Roselyn! You know I hate when you mumble." Emily frowned, looking between the two "And you are being dramatic. I think you two took what your father said the wrong way."

"The wrong way?" Lorelai three the pan in the sink of water "how could we have taken it the wrong way? what was open to interpretation?"
