My eyes twitched at the slightest sound that the early morning had to offer, creeping out of bed I made my way over to the window and stared in awe at the view, at the soft raindrops that gracefully slid down the window and the blossoming trees that I hadn't noticed the night before.
"Shut up will you, she'll hear us." I knew it, it was obvious, his plans to just take his item and leave me, but I'm here to stop them. The corner of my lip curled into a devilish smirk as I glided over towards the doorway.
"Yeah, if we talk any louder she might wake up and kill us for being stupid enough to have a plan like this." I added in gracefully with a venomous tone as I opened the door.
"Oh so you're just as bad in the morning, oh great, well get dressed we need to head off soon." He looked me up and down a few times before turning back to a strange and rugged man then shooed him off.
"I don't have any clothes with me, so now would be a good time to set off." I pushed him down the stairs and towards the door, seeing as he paid for the rooms last night, but he stopped steadily in front of me. He grabbed my arm and pulled me outside and then into a fancy side shop.
Frocks with dangling beads and crochet patterns that swilled elegantly down the sides stood merrily around the room. It was a nice little Chinese styled shop, but it looked to be extremely expensive in taste.
"If we're going to be travelling together you're not wearing that." He sighed as he lowered his head and brought me up to the counter. Madam may we please view your finest in silk." The lady looked wise and caring, but didn't even spare me a look.
"Where did you suddenly get the money to pay for all of this?" I whispered looking around the shop. When I meet this man he was stealing my things and selling them off in a black market, yet here we are standing in a shop that sold dresses that I couldn't even buy If I saved up for my whole life.
"Will this do?" The lady walked out from behind the counter holding a knee length dress, but he just shook his head. He reached into one of his pockets and pulled out a token, that had lotus flower, on the other side there was a dragon. "Oh I see, I'll be back in just a minute." She continued.
She brought out a fancier looking dress, with a dragon embroidered along the side, It went from a light blue to a deep purple. He nodded his head and gave the token to her, she returned back into the back of the shop and we made our leave.
"Now hurry up and get changed!" He threw the dress to me and pointed over to a gravel path that seemed to lead out of town. I narrowed my eyes at him.
"You think I'm going to go get changed out in the woods with you watching me." I questioned bluntly, narrowing my eyes.
"Who said I wanted to watch." He spat back at me and lent against the shop wall. I ran into the woods, trying my best not to rip the dress, I finally found a good spot to change. It was a very confusing and painful dress, I wasn't sure where my arms were supposed to go and the embroidery was scratching my skin raw. I managed to get it on over top of my shorts and bandages, what I hoped was the correct way and walked back to the trail.
"I guess that lady does have good taste." He chuckled as he eyed me up and down.
"Great, now which way are we heading." I rolled my eyes, but continued to follow him as he walked further down the path. The scenery was nice, the tree lined gravel path, the fresh breeze of the awakening forest, the towering mountains in the background.
Peace never lasts in a world like ours, because there's something lurking, waiting. seizing their chance to strike.
