We were visiting Grandpa's farm today. Mom and Dad were packing our bags and setting them in the carriage. I was inside, waiting for my mother to come in and my father to sit in front to lead the horses.
I was excited because I would get to see the long grass at the back of Grandpa's farm. I also heard that he put up more decorations this winter, so that made it more exciting. But I'm mostly ecstatic about the long grass because it can be a great hiding place.
"Alrighty dear, are you ready to ride?" My father called out from outside as my mother enters the carriage. "Yes father!" "Then both of ya girls stay still for the whole ride cause it's gonna take awhile!" "I'm all set with (name), love" My mother assures him. "Good." Then he hurried and made the horses walk.
...
I fell asleep during the ride because there was nothing else to do in the carriage.
"(name)? (name) wake up-...we've arrived at Grandpa and Grandma's farm!" My mother softly shook me and talked to me in a gentle manner. "Ughhhhh...—okay mommy...let me just sit up" I slowly sat up and got an alarming headache because of the sudden announcement.
My mother seemed to notice as she held the back of my head and carried me the rest of the way inside to my room that seemed like it was already ready for me.

"Here you go sweetheart, rest up...you can play in the farm later on!" My mother said, "Your father and I will unpack our luggage, alright?" "Okay mummy..." I sleepily answer back. My eyes start to get droopy as I heard mother carefully walk up to my door to get out. Then I passed out.
...
I yawned, stretching my arms, still laying down because I was pretty sure that if I stood up I would get a terrible headache. After a few minutes, I finally felt fully awake and rushed to the window. "Oh, it's late afternoon! Better get downstairs so mum and dad can still let me play outside!"
I raced down the stairs to the dining room where my family was.

"Oh there you are little (name)! Come join us for dinner! Your father and I can accompany you outside if you finish your food quick!" My grandpa called out to me as I sat down at the table and started eating that yummy food that was prepared for me.
"Thank you! The food was so good! Can we go outside now pretty, pretty, please???" I nagged my grandfather by tugging on his sleeve, "Alright, I am a man of my word, come on (father's name)! Let's go with miss sunshine here!" He says, "Sure dad"

We finally reached for the tall grass at the back of grandpa's farm. "Finally! Dad I'm going in for a little bit!" "Okay—but don't wander off too far!" "I wont!" I yell to him as I ran through the field. I laughed as I noticed that the grass was even taller than me but it didn't scare me one bit.
I kept playing and messing around until sunset, when my dad called me. My ears perked up since I know his voice so well so I began walking back to the cabin. But as I was walking, I heard the grass ruffle behind me and I gasp, turning around. I was alarmed by the abnormality and I stood there for a while longer.
Then suddenly I see a weird face that resembles a scarecrow. "AAAAAAAHHHHH!" I screamed as I quickly made a run for it. "WAIT! RABIES DONT HURT YOU!" A strange voice echoes but I still keep running. I felt bad though, so I slowly stopped running and slowly turned around to see the weird scarecrow catching up to me and stoping right in front of me.
"You are fast for girl like you" the thing spoke in weird English. I stood there in shock. "Not talk? Well sorry to scare, but me is Rabies, who you?" The thing that calls itself 'Rabies' lifted up its hand to gesture me to do a handshake, but I remain unresponsive. "Eh...no worry human, I not hurt you, I just want friends you! You trust me!" I felt more assured with its words so I hesitantly lifted one of my arms and hand shook him. "H-hello my name is (name)...nice to meet you—?" "There you go human!" Rabies smiles at me and the corners of my lips tug into a smile too.
"(name)!" Father yelled. "OH NO! I have to go Rabies, my father is looking for me, but I promise I will visit you again!" I quickly pulled my hand away from it and hurried back to father.
"(name)! Dear, I was so worried! But I'm glad your back now." "I made a scarecrow friend daddy!" "Haha—sure you did."
...
Later that night, I looked over at my open window to gaze at the stars. I was mesmerized by the sight until I heard a faint ruffling noise once again. I searched the barely visible tall grass and spotted Rabies...he was already staring at me. I ignored the weird feeling and waved at him, and unsurprisingly, he waved back.
