Short but VERY INTENSE chapter, I recommend today more than ever that you listen to the song I leave you at the beginning.

Penelope was paralysed from head to toe. She could have suffered a lot during this time but the way Colin had quoted her verbatim as she had told him she had to declare and how he had just declared himself to her had left her without electricity.

Her body wanted to respond but remained still, she tried to speak but the words wouldn't come out. Anyone wouldn't be able to live up to the declaration she had just experienced.

"Please, Pen, tell me something," Colin pleaded, "I'm freezing to death."

"No," Penelope's breath caught, "I don't know what to say."

"What about her? Lady Whistledown, what would she say to such a statement?" asked Colin.

At that moment, Penelope realised that far from giving her away, Colin was proud of it. It made her chest swell with pride.

"I'd say that's the most sincere and romantic statement she'd ever heard in her life," she concluded. Penelope concluded, blushing.

Colin was finally able to smile in the pouring rain. He made to move closer but heard a voice coming from Penelope's room.

"Penelope, what are you doing with the window open?"

Penelope turned quickly and saw her mother advancing towards her.

"I was scared by lightning, don't worry," Penelope prayed she wouldn't peek out.

"Stop the lightning and go to bed, we have to get up in a few hours. You must rest to get through tomorrow," her mother asked.

Penelope nodded, and before closing the door, she took one last look downstairs where Colin was hiding in case Portia approached. Colin smiled, and Penelope could only give him a faint smile before she finished closing the window.

"I'll see you tomorrow at the altar," Colin whispered to Penelope. All he wished was that the next time the two of them stood at the altar, it would be as man and wife.

Felicity kept pacing up and down the corridor. She was more nervous than the day before and it was impossible to get her hair done.

"Felicity, you have to keep still. Otherwise we won't be able to make you look beautiful," asked Porita.

"I'm going to be someone's wife today!" exclaimed her daughter.

"It's just the beginning of the rest of your life with the love of your life," said Penelope, "It's normal for you to feel like this."

"I don't know," she said, fanning herself, "I feel like something's going to happen. And it's got nothing to do with the wedding. I feel it," Felicity said in an ominous tone.

"We're not going to get anywhere here. I'm taking your sister to Madame Delacroix to finish getting her ready," Portia said to Penelope.

"Alright, Mum. As soon as I've finished a few things I have left, I'm going straight to the church," she said.

"Okay, but please don't be late or your sister will have a heart attack," she nervously asked her daughter.

"Mum," holding her hand, "Stay calm. I wouldn't miss this wedding for the world. I love you too much for such a thing to happen," she said, trying to reassure her.
