A/N: This fic is part of a group of FanFictions written by me and KayFandom. It's a round robin style fic in which we each picked a character from Haikyuu!! at random and started a "wrong Number" text chat and keep writing until they fall in love. This has been such a fun writing activity and this will be the first of many fics of this type to come. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as we did writing it! (If that's even possible 😛)

All of my work is posted here on Wattpad, but if you are interesting in reading more from KayFandom you can find her on Ao3 here: https://archiveofourown.org/users/Phoenix_Heart/pseuds/Phoenix_Heart

"All I knew this morning when I woke up is I know something now, know something now I didn't before.

All I know from yesterday is everything has changed."

~Taylor Swift (feat. Ed Sheeran), "Everything Has Changed"

- Osamu -

Love develops in strange and mysterious ways. Sometimes it's like a spark, flaring up the instant two people meet. For others it's like a slow burning flame, a little speck of potential that catches and slowly builds. Some start off badly and learn to love in time. Others grow to love from an already established friendship that seemed destined to become something more. Love can grow from similarities, sharing in something two people find passion in. Or love can grow from diversity, finding your other half and the person who will round you out.

And sometimes, love starts with an illegible text in the middle of the night from an unknown number.

Unknown Number (Saturday 1:13 am): hey whera asr yuou??,,/!?????!! Iou cantx vuistc leaved a fruend alk alone adteer draggubf me out ti get drynk

Unknown Number (Saturday 1:17 am): BOOOOOJJBHOOOO !!! Bad friens!!!

When Miya Osamu woke up to two texts from a stranger, he didn't know what to think of it. He could make out enough to get what they were saying (far too many drunk texts from his annoying twin made him stupidly fluent in drunk text speak), apparently this person's friend dragged them out to go drinking then ditched them. He had to agree with the second text, what a shitty friend.

Miya Osamu (Saturday 5:31 am): Uh, what?...

When he didn't receive a text back within a few minutes he didn't think much of it. Afterall, they were out late last night and clearly drunk. And he didn't really have time to care too much; he had to get ready for work so he could open his shop on time. So, he set his phone back down and went to take a shower.

By the time he did receive a response he had almost forgotten about the whole thing. He was at the beginning of the lunch rush when he felt his phone go off twice. When he saw that it was the unknown number, he ignored it and got back to work. It wasn't until the rush was over and he was finally taking a break that he remembered that he hadn't even read the texts.

Unknown Number (Saturday 11:00 am): oh my gosh!! I am so sorry!! I was so drunk last night trying to text my friend and must have put in the wrong number. 😨🫣

Unknown Number (Saturday 11:03 am): many apologies. I hope i didn't wake you up at that ungodly hour. 😬😳

Osamu snorted to himself, shoving the last piece of onigiri from his lunch into his mouth as he responded.

Miya Osamu (Saturday 3:46 pm): No, with the hours I work a simple text can't wake me.

The response was almost instant.

Unknown Number (Saturday 4:02 pm): oh good! 😩🤗

He didn't bother responding this time. What more was there to say? His break was over anyway, and he needed to make sure everything was prepared before the dinner rush came, so he slipped his phone back into his pocket and cleaned up his trash so he could get back to work figuring that would be the last he heard from the unnamed person who goes out to get drunk with bad friends.
