It was a particularly freezing winter afternoon. Miyata always hated winter. His weight control becoming more unbearable as the change in season makes sweating out the excess weight even harder than it should be. This day was no different, he was doing his usual sand bag beating session covered from head to toe and the thickest garments he owns, heating fans blasting at him from all directions further chipping away at his sanity. I don't for how much longer I can do this miyata thinks to himself the thought of going through another round of weight control made him miserable. But he had to what he had to do in order to obtain his goal. A goal that is now long gone by now with ippo's newly announced retirement. Honestly he wasn't sure why he was still going anyway it's just that something was keeping him stuck in his place.
His rythm of thoughts was inturupted by his dad .
"we just got a call from Naniwa boxing gym. They want you as a sparring partner for the future champion"
"yeah yeah i know I'm the one who asked to be sendo's partner remember"
"your old man is just teasing you get yourself ready. You need to wake up early and take the train" he laughed patting his son's shoulder. "and maybe take the rest of the day off. You need to be in great shape for the next few weeks"
"okay, dad." Miyata replied coldly.
Miyata took off his boxing gloves, wiped the sweat off of his forehead with the towel usually wrapped around his neck. As he steps out of his gym that became basically his second home, he looks up to the sky. It was diffrent today not the usual gloomy clouds that dimmed the world, this time it was bright and colorful. Maybe this was a sign that choosing to be sendo's sparing partner was a good idea maybe changing the scenery to osaka will help change the rythm of his life that was currently stagnanating to the point of torture. As he walked out of the gym he decided to use this opportunity to do some more roadwork clearly ignoting his dad's caring advice . As he steps into his appartement, dark, empty, and cold as always it was , he hated it. Ironically while at the gym he would wish to feel the cold against his skin when he's constantly wrapped up in layers upon layers trapping him in a prison of his own sweat and body heat. But now that he's finally met with his long awaited desire he hates it. He should've gotten used to the emptiness by now, after all, that's how he spent his entire life. Even when he lived with his dad, he was more of a stranger during that time, he might as well just be alone. Maybe that's why he likes to convince everyone around him that he is fine with the lonleyness. Cause if everyone around him believes it we'll then it has to be true right? He walks to the kitchen opens his fridge to look at the scattered foods that he knows he can't eat. Only to soon after close the fridge door. He goes up to the faucet fills up a big cup of water places it against his lips and without taking a single sip empty's it's contains in the sink. just the feeling of water on his skin was enough. He moves on to doing his usual nightly routine, washed himself, brushed his teeth, changed into something more comfortable, packed his bag making sure he didn't forget anything, finally sets his alarm earlier than usual awaking hour, after all he has a train to catch. And he closes his eyes trying to fall asleep trying to not have his dayly depressive thoughts that plagued him, which to his surprise actually Probably due to his body being exhausted from the countless abuse he puts it through, as soon as his head hit the pillow he was sound asleep.
