I wasn't crazy. I wasn't schizophrenic. There was an actual wolf living inside of me. Those were the thoughts going round and round in my head. The relief made me lightheaded like nothing else.

On our way back to Vegas Alexandra told me something that I couldn't forget. I wanted to keep her close, but after a long consideration I decided to set her free.

We were sitting in my father's office again. We agreed between us and with Oksana that we wouldn't talk about our abduction, but sooner or later I should mention him my wolf. He had to be the one who gave me those genes.

"Alexandra told me that she went with wishes of his grandfather because he promised to pay for her mother's and Polina's treatments. Now that..." I couldn't say the word that they were dead. "Now that condition is void."

I couldn't look at Alexandra at that moment, I was afraid what would I see on her face.

"I see." My father pursed his lips. I felt his eyes bored into mine as he wanted to read my mind.

"I think, we can set her free." I said the words that burned like acid on my tongue. I heard Alexandra's sharp intake of breath and I hoped that it was a good kind of surprise on her part.

"If that's what you want." Now we both looked at her.

"I think I would like to go back to school." She whispered, her blue eyes huge in her pale face.

"Then I'll talk to Lisitsyn." My father said. "Though I think it would be the best if you stayed married for the protection we could offer to you, Alexandra. Is that acceptable for you?"

After that everything happened as fast as everything where Ricardo Lopez and his unstoppable nature was involved. Alexandra moved to London and started her studies at Royal College of Music. I started the law school in Vegas and started to get involved in my father's various businesses. Mostly the legal part, but he made it totally my choice.

He was totally and surprisingly honest with me in every way. After a few weeks of stewing, I brought up the matter of being a wolf and we spoke about it for hours. He told me everything about being a wolf.
