It was a dark and cloudy night. I was on my way to babysit the Clark twins, James and Jamie. I usually babysit the kids in my neighborhood, this time my mom told her boss I'd watched her kids while they went to the company party. Her boss's babysitter backed out at the last second so my mom (trying to score points with her boss) had the great idea to have me babysit the little brats. I met them before and let me tell you they are not a delight. They think they can do anything they want and they do that twin thing where they talk at the same time. They are so creepy.
The house was old cracked marble and vines were overgrown on the white walls. At least I think they were white. The house looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. I walked up the steps to the door and there were thorn bushes around the door. As I knocked on the brown old doors I felt like something was off. That was my first warning that something was going to go wrong. Along with the fact that the house looked like an evil lair out of a horror movie. Now that I know what was going to happen I should have ran as far as possible without looking back.
My moms boss was a short plump lady with chocolate brown hair and emerald green eyes.
When she opened the door she looked worried. "Oh good you're here I'm about to be late, all you need to know is on the table in the notebook I left. And I will allow you to have some friends over.." she said in a hushed tone. "Mom, why do we need a babysitter?" said James with a snotty tone he was on top of the second step. Jamie had just made it to where he was. "I can't trust you to do your homework or not burn the house down. I'm still paying off the damage on Miss.Willette's house. Make sure to follow the instructions in the notebook and don't skip even one step. Love you kids, be back around four, maybe five in the morning. To check in " Ms.Clark said and shut the door behind her.
"Okay first let's get your homework done." I said looking at the two. "Fine!" Said Jamie. She sounded like I had asked her to hit her head on the wall. That was warning number two kids act like that I know but her eyes said a different story. They were sad and hurt but happy like she wanted to hurt herself.
We went upstairs to their rooms. When I tell you that they had big rooms I mean like you could fit 70 people in there. They gave me a sheet of paper that had what homework needs to be bone. They had vocab for homework from business and careers. They went to a weird private school. They were in eighth grade and the homework for class was simple words and their definitions like,
Net worth: The value of your assets minus your debts.
Note: Another name for loan.
Audit: A process where accounts are rechecked for accuracy and completeness.
Savings: Money set aside, generally in a bank or investments, which earns interest.
After that they had to read for an hour. Leaving them alone was my first big mistake. I went down to the kitchen and looked at the notebook. It was only 10:30. Fifty minutes later it was quite too quiet. Just when I started to get a bad feeling a huge thud came from upstairs. I ran as fast as I could to see what had happened. The twins had knocked over a bookshelf to get something down from it in Jamie's room. "What are you doing? Look at this mess, what could be so important. You still have ten minutes of reading for your homework." I said. James looked at me and then looked at his sister and they sat down and started to set up a Ouija board. "If you play with us we'll do what you want." Jaime said in a sweet but menacing voice. I had to get them to listen to me and fast think think think. Oh this is both a bad and good idea. "Do you really want to talk to a ghost? " I said, getting my phone out of my back pocket. "Yes we do but why do you want to know?"
"Because I have a friend who has a brother who is a ghost hunter. Can I get them to come over first?" I said with my phone in my hand. Second big mistake. They looked at each other with excitement in their eyes and nodded their heads in agreement.
I dialed his number "Hey" He said I had put it on speaker. "Hey Leo, what are you doing?" I said looking at the twins. "I'm hanging out with Kaysen, Kayden, Ayden, Kaileb  and Jackson we wer-" "Hey Bestie." Leo was cut off by Kaysen. Classic Kaysen. "Hey, that sounds like a party but I'm watching two little kids and they want to play with a Ouija board, talk to a ghost in exchange for doing homework. Could you
come and help?" I said when I looked up from the phone I could see the twins didn't like to be referred to as 'little'. "We have to study for Math so we're together  but hell yay I'm in wh-" "I'm in too and so is Jackson and the rest of us." Kaysen cut Leo off again "Hey don't volunteer me. But yes I'll come." Jackson said. "I'll come I guess and the rest are nodding in agreement" said Kayden in the background. "Great, I'll text you the address and see you in a few." I said looking at the big grins on the twins' faces as I hung up. "Now you two need to read until they get here."
It took them an hour and twenty minutes to get to the house. I had tried to put the kids to bed so maybe I could call this off but they didn't fall asleep. Ms.Clark told me she was going to stay at the office till about 11:00 am the next day after she checked in because she had a lot of paperwork and someone had kicked a hole into the wall so she had to supervise the worker to fix it. There was a knock at the door. The twins ran to get it. "Hey you must be the kids sh-." "You're so amazing I have never seen Identical twins before." Kaysen had yet again interrupted Leo. Leo was the wildest Hispanic boy you would ever meet. His hair was always dyed another color every week, this time it was blue. His eyes were hazelnut brown. "Kaysen let the boy speak." I said hugging him. "Your charge is so cute." Kaysen said. He was very enthusiastic about everything. His brown hair was curly and has frosted tips, his silver eyes were always open for some. "Hey." Jackson said as I gave him a hug. He was usually quiet but when he talked it was the safest thing to trust. He had jet black hair and blue eyes. "We are here for one thing and only one thing." Leo said dramatically as always. I hugged him "You're always so dramatic Leo." Ayden said I punched his shoulder and the rest of the guys followed his lead. He was the strongest of the bunch and the stupidest. His golden brown hair was short and wavy. His hazel eyes were always on the lookout for a new spot to play. Kayden was the last to enter. I hugged him and he nodded.he had dirty blonde hair with blue eyes "What's with the bulging black backpack? Don't you just have a silver bag?" I asked Leo. "This stuff wouldn't fit in my bag so we packed my brother's old backpack. This stuff is so we don't get posed and so we can do it right." (That was so untrue that now I still don't trust him with protecting people.) He said it like it was obvious. I rolled my eyes then hit him in the back of the head. "No more being dramatic." I said and gave them my death stair; it was only to be used in special times. "Fine. You take all the fun out of it." Leo said, crossing his arms. "Now where is your dining room?" "In the room to your left." the twins said at the same time (It was so creepy).
Leo walked into the room and opened his backpack. He took nine candles and put one in the middle of each seat. Then he asked us to come in. "Pick a seat and light the candle." Leo said and lit his. Kaysen was on his right and Jackson was on his left and Kayden was on Jacksons right. I was on the opposite side of them. I was across from Jackson, James was across from Leo, Jamie was across from Kaysen, Kaileb  was across from Kayden. Ayden was on the end. We lit our candles and sat down. Third big mistake: letting Leo set this up and going through with it. "Bring out the Ouija board." Leo said with his face above his candle. "I thought I told you no more being dramatic" I said and almost threw my candle at him. Some of the melted wax hit his face but Kailed stopped me.He sank down in his chair. James and Jamie ran upstairs to get the Ouija board. When they came into the room then gave the board to Leo who then sat up with a spark in his eyes. "Thank you. Turn off the light then put your hands on this piece." Leo said as he got out the board and this little piece that looked like a triangle with a glass hole in the middle. We all put our hands on the piece. "Oh spirits, we do not wish to harm you, we just want to talk." Leo said. I rolled my eyes 'this is never going to work' I thought. We waited for a while then the lights flashed, the chandelier above us started to spin, the windows blew open then the candles went out...
Then a woman screamed "Help me blood, blood everywhere!" Kaysen started to scream and cry. Leo hugged him. Jackson looked like a ghost(Pun intended. But at that time there was no time for jokes.). He was pale. Kaileb  reached around and grabbed my hand. Kayden raped his arms around Jacson. Ayden sank into his chair and hid under the table. Then the candles lit with red fire. Everything that could spawn light turned red, even the flashlights that Leo had in his backpack. The walls turned a blood red then someone screamed "GET OUT." In a demonic voice. As soon as the words faded the twins rose out of their seats. I tried to grab on but they slipped through my hands and their heads started to spin all the way around. Their eyes turned black all black.(Great I thought now I'll have to pay for an exorcism.)
From their mouths can a demonic voice and blood "Now they are ours, leave with your lives or die a terrible death." Everything stopped at once. Then the twins fell. They landed on me and Kaileb. They passed out and with anger in my eyes. I turned to Leo about to kill him. Kaysen was still crying.  "Leo Livingston, you fix this or I'll kill you before the spirits get a chance." After I said that a knife flung at my head.
