Chapter 5

"See? It's fine now..." Tomioka-San said, turning to face me. I just give him a small smile. That girl may believe what I said. But will the rest of them?

-The Demon Slayer Headquarter-

Y/N P.O.V

Tomioka-San silently leads me to a house. I'm guessing this house belong to him. I gently lower Yumi down so she's standing on her own. She grab my hand as I stare at the house in front of us.

I turn my head to look at Tomioka-San. "This house is my estate... and this will be where you'd stay" he said, as he turn to look at me. I just hum softly at what he said. "Let's head inside now, shall we?" He said. I just nod my head at what he said. He walks inside the Estate without saying a word. I just follow along silently.

The Estate looks even bigger from the inside. I turn my head to look at Tomioka-San. "You look amazed..." he said. I blink in surprise at the playful tone in his voice. I didn't expect him to act playful towards me. As he seem so... unexpressive.

Tomioka-San gestures me to follow after him. He leads me to a room. "This will be your room" he said, gesturing towards the room. I walk forward and slide the door open. The room looks small, but it looks nice. "Also, we'll have a meeting with the Leader of the corps in the morning. You will be coming with me. I'll be introducing you to him. So until then... make yourself feel like home" he said.

"Thank you, Tomioka-San..." I said. He just nods his head. He turn around and walks away. I just stare at his back as his figure gradually becomes smaller, until he's finally out of sight. I turn my head to look at Yumi as she just stares at the room. "Do you want to rest?" I asked. She turn her head to look at me.

"Yes, please. I'm tired..." she said. I just give her a soft smile. The two of us head inside the room. I help her prepare the futon and let her lay down. I pull the blanket up to her chest and caress her hair, as she slowly drift off to sleep.

I wake up to the sound of knocking. I stand up and head towards the door, sliding it open. "Ah, Tomioka-San... good morning" I said. He nods his head at what I said.

"You should start to get ready... we'll be going for the meeting with Oyakata-Sama in about an hour" he said. I just nod my head at what he said. He turns around and walks away, without saying anything else.

I kneel down next to Yumi and gently shake her shoulder to wake her up. She groggily open her eyes. I let out a soft giggle at how sleepy she looks. She cover her mouth as she yawns softly.

"Come on... Tomioka-San said we need to get ready so we can meet with the Leader" I said. She sleepily nod her head, making me laugh softly. I gently ruffle her hair as she move to sit up.

A While Later

Tomioka-San and Yumi are both having breakfast. I just sit in silence next to them. I don't need to eat anything. I can't eat human's food because I'm a demon. But I don't need to eat any flesh either. Even so, I never felt hunger.

After they ate their breakfast, we decide it's finally time to head to the place where the meeting will be held. Yumi grabs my hand as we make our way out of Tomioka-San's Estate. We start to make our way to the destination.

By the time we reach there, I can see there are other 8 people. One of them is the Insect Hashira. What's her name again? Right, Kocho Shinobu.

She's the first one to notice me as she turn to look at me. I notice how her eyes widen slightly at the sight of me. She probably didn't expect to see me out in the open while the sun is up. She turn her body to face us as she makes her way towards us.

"I didn't expect to see you out here in the open, Y/N-San" she said. The others finally took notice after she talks to us. They make their way towards us, surrounding me. I feel slightly nervous. But I try my best to keep myself calm.

"Why won't she be in the open, Shinobu-Chan?" A girl with pink hair and green tips said. Kocho-San turn her head to look at her. The girl looks confused by what she said.

"Do you not notice anything different about her?" Kocho-San said. The girl turn her head to look at me. Her eyes seem to scan my figure as she tries to figure out what Kocho-San mean. Kocho-San let out a sigh when she realize the pink head girl didn't notice. "This girl right here is a demon" she said. A chorus of gasps resonate around us, as they all stare at me in complete shock.

"A demon? Under the sunlight?! How is that possible??" One of them yelled out. I feel a drop of sweat rolling down the side of my head. But I can't blame them for their reaction. Anyone would react that way if they ever come across a demon under the sunlight.

I hear a hum next to me. I turn my head to the side only to jump when I come face to face with a white haired guy. He have markings on his face as he stares at me intensely. I back away a little to keep my distance but he just steps closer.

Tomioka-San places his hand on the guy's shoulder as he pushes him back a little, moving to stand in front of me. "Back away, Uzui-San. Can't you see you're making her uncomfortable" he said. The guy I now know as Uzui just stare at me over Tomioka-San's shoulder. The others just stares at me as well, making me feel nervous. Yumi seem to feel uncomfortable as well, as she scoots closer to me. Her hand clutching onto my clothes.

These people sure are curious about me. But again, I can't blame them. I would be too if I were in their shoes. I just hope they'd stop staring at me as if they want to devour me alive. The way they stares at me is making me feel uncomfortable and awkward. I just hope they'd stop with that look.
