As Sana pulls into the parking lot, I realize I greatly underestimated the importance of a Got7 party. Whoever this Jackson guy is, he draws in a large crowd.
"Is something other than a party happening here?" Jisoo asks, watching the numerous groups of people flock into the three-story building.
"Kind of. There will be big-shot investors and people promoting their groups, but mostly, people just like the party." A slow smile crept onto her face. "I promise neither of you will have been to anything like it."
"I hope we get to enjoy it some," I laugh from the back.
"I'm sure you'll have a great time if you ask the right person." Sana looks at me through the rearview mirror, winking. "However, both of you make sure to stay safe. I don't care what happens. If you feel scared, get out of there and call someone."
Jisoo smiles, thanking her, but I stay silent. Unfortunately, I don't believe that solution will be helpful if something does happen. The building is enormous, and there is no way Jisoo can map it out correctly. And I doubt myself to get out, even after studying the map of the building.
Maybe it's from past occurrences with Jooheon and Yeonjun, but getting out of the building may only lead to something worse. If Got7 shares the same brutality as Monsta X and TXT, they won't care as long as they stop the threat.
The only hope, if met with trouble, is to find the nearest Seventeen member, which seems impossible while looking at the neverending line of people.
Sana sharply turns into a parking spot, slinging me across the backseat. "Sorry!" She calls, turning off the engine and stepping out.
I quickly follow her and Jisoo out and to the structure. "So, where do we meet Mingyu and Dino?"
"They should be waiting near the entrance for you two." Sana turns her head as she talks. "After that, I probably won't see you until after the party."
Me and Jisoo share a look. At the very least, she's acting like she's okay with this, but after knowing her years, I know that isn't her true feelings. I've never been so thankful to be a thief.
I reach my hand out to her, and she grabs onto it, squeezing it lightly with sweaty palms.
"Well, I'm sure it won't take us long, so hopefully, we can catch you for part of the fun," I say to Sana; however, the message is for Jisoo.
Sana doesn't respond, and we silently cross the long distance of the parking lot. As we approach, a small group of Seventeen's members wave at us. Mingyu, Dino, DK, Jun, and Jeonghan all await us.
"You're early!" DK begins to walk towards us, his bright smile showing.
Jeonghan walks behind DK, swiftly reaching us and whispering, "You two follow Mingyu and Dino. Don't say anything about the plan until they do."
Before I or Jisoo can respond, he's turned and walks into the building, not bothering to say anything to the other members.
DK shrugs, adding, "He's angsty about tonight. Got7 really doesn't like us."
"So why invite you?" Jisoo asks, keeping her voice low.
"That's why he's stressed," Mingyu says, suddenly appearing beside DK. "We aren't sure, but it can't be good."
"Great," Jisoo whispers, just quiet enough that only I should be able to hear it.
Maybe he senses the tension, or he's just saying it, but Mingyu adds, "This job should be quick and simple though. Hopefully, they'll be too focused on the party."
