POV Ash

"What in the world?" I gasped. We had arrived at the site of the next cage.

"What happened here?" agreed Clemont. The cage was covered in scorch marks, and the door was ripped off its hinges. A bunch of Flare Grunts were all lying on the ground unconscious.

"Is this what Bryony was going to check out?" thought Alain.

"I don't see any signs of her Pokemon, though," sighed Bonnie.

"Whoever was being held here must have escaped," stated Sycamore.

"No wonder," remarked Bonnie sarcastically, "Where did you come up with that idea?"

"Bonnie!?" questioned Clemont, "There's no need to be so snippy."

"What if Daddy was here and he got hurt or something," whimpered Bonnie.

"There's no point in being hysterical until we check all of the cages," interjected Alain, "I promise we'll find your Dad, Bonnie." Bonnie petted Tyrantrum's fur.

"Then what are we waiting for!" exclaimed Bonnie, "Giddy up, Tyrantrum." Charizard and Garchomp started flying with their partners on their backs. Clemont, Bonnie, Greninja, and I were riding on Tyrantrum.

"Hey, Alain," I called.

"Yeah, Ash," responded Alain as he turned his head in my direction.

"Where are the Zygardes?" I asked.

"They're patrolling the area around Prism Tower. I've seen Xerosic's schematics. The vines will attack anyone who gets too close to the Zygardes and the towers," answered Alain.

"I have a plan that might work," I informed, "But we'll need everyone before it's possibly safe."

"Is Squishy a Zygarde?" peeped Bonnie.

"Yeah," nodded Sycamore, "He's a Zygarde Core."

"Oh," stated Bonnie, "Team Flare is gonna regret hurting my friend."

"Absolutely," I agreed, "I just hope Serena is alright."

"Are you kidding me?!" screeched Clemont. We arrived at the next cage in the middle of a random street. Like the previous one, it was scorched and missing the door. The grunts were lying motionless on the vine-ridden street.

"There must be someone else who has a vendetta against Team Flare," thought Alain, "There's no point in worrying. Another cage in a couple of blocks away." Our Pokemon started in the direction of the next cell.

"Who has a strong fire-type to take down two hordes of Team Flare grunt?" I paused and thought briefly, "Maybe Blaziken Mask?"

"Gre!" agreed Greninja.

"My...er," stammered Sycamore, "My uh... opinion is similar to yours, Ash." I scratched the back of my head.

"Thanks?" I chuckled.

"Blaziken Mask is a good idea," nodded Clemont, "Speaking of other people, where is everybody that lives in Lumiose?"

"If the sky turned red and vines erupted from the street, would you like to go outside and investigate if you weren't a strong Pokemon trainer," asked Alain.

"Well, yeah," shrugged Clemont, "If I weren't a strong trainer, then yeah, I wouldn't go investigate, but what about the trainers in town for the Lumiose Conference." Alain's face contorted with realization.

"They're all stuck in the hotel," frowned Alain, "Lysandre accounted for that as well. He planted several devices that allowed Xerosic to hack into the hotel's security system."
