I reached my first class of the day which happened to be English one of my more enjoyable subjects. There was already a decent number of students in the class but thankfully I was still able to secure a seat at the back of the class with the other nobodies. While waiting for my class to start I pull out my phone and scroll through Instagram. A few minutes later Mr. Cedar clears his throat to gather everyone's attention. He was a newer teacher who started teaching midway through last year.

The only reason I knew that, was because most of the female population in the high school thought he was dreamy and wouldn't stop talking about him. A lot of the girls on my junior high soccer team have older sisters who told them all about him. Mr. Cedar is around six foot three with slightly golden skin, dark eyes, and deep brown hair from what I can see. He certainly isn't unattractive, but I don't really care about having a crush on teachers.

"Good morning, everyone, and welcome to your first day of high school. I am Mr. Cedar, and I will be teaching you all ninth-grade English. How well you all do this year will decide which of you will be placed in advanced English next year or not. I hope you all excel in this class." He says while he looks at all of the students throughout the classroom.

I slip my phone into my pants pocket and give Mr. Cedar my attention so I don't appear rude on the first day. He turns to a stack of papers on his desk and picks them up. "This is your class syllabus which will give you all of the information you need for our class this school year," he says while he begins to pass them down the rows of students. I grab mine from the student in front of me and skim over it before placing it down on my desk.

Mr. Cedar returns to the front of the class and looks around to ensure that all of the students receive their copy of the syllabus. "Since today is the first day I figured we could go around the room and introduce ourselves before the end of class. I'm not going to bore all of you kids with going over the syllabus because I know that is what most of you will be doing throughout the day. Besides you all can read on your own and don't need my help for that," Mr. Cedar explains.

I am thankful that we don't have to go over the syllabus but I'm not too thrilled with having to do everyone's introductions. As Mr. Cedar starts the introductions with the students towards the front of the class I move my focus to looking out the windows. The soccer field is outside this class and past that is the woods that I searched through last night. I didn't see any police cars nearby the school this morning so I can only assume that they did most of their work last night to ensure not to startle the students. While looking into the tree line I notice some movement but I can't tell what it is. I shudder at the thought of what could be out there before I feel a tap on my desk drawing my attention back to the class.

The boy in front of me smiles at me before turning back toward the front of the classroom. I look past them and see that the student in front of him has just finished introducing themselves to the class before sitting back down. I am thankful that he got my attention before I embarrassed myself in front of everyone. The boy stands up to introduce himself and I notice that he is pretty fit for a freshman boy. He has light brown hair that is cut short on the sides but longer on the top that he has spiked up. From what I can tell he has to be at least 6 foot and he has beige-colored skin.

"Hello, my name is Dylan and I just moved here from out of state. My favorite things to do in my free time are hang out with my dog and practice my soccer skills. I am hoping to try out for the boy's soccer team this year and make some new friends along the way." He says before sitting back down before turning to face me signaling that it is my turn to introduce myself.

I stand up from my desk making sure not to hit my knees as I get up. "Hi, my name is Atlas and I've lived here my whole life. My favorite things to do in my free time are writing and spending time with my best friend." I say while looking around the room. Before I can sit back down Mr. Cedar speaks up and asks, "Do you have any other hobbies Atlas? There has to be some other stuff you like to do."
