Evelyns pov:    

I woke up hearing commotion all around the house I cover my face with my pillow my pailsmen Starla asleep in Caleb's dirty unwashed bloody coat. My door bursts open "Evelyn wake up~!" I look up to see my cousin in-law Felix's he's been living with Catherine for years before me and my brothers originally came to the demon realm to 'hunt' witches, but that never happened I smile slightly at Felix "hey brother" I point two finger guns at him making shooting sounds as I sit up and do our secret handshake bonking heads at the end. I speak up while yawning "what do you think Catherine's making for breakfast?" I say, Felix speaks "i think griffin eggs and toast" he says while feeding his praying mantis pailsmen a small beetle I walk out of my dull room baby brown wall painted room the only thing colorful in my room is my maroon diary with golden painted words on it with my name written in cursive.

The sun shone through the windows as I saw Catherine smiling at me "Good morning Cal-" she took a pause and looked down before I spoke up "I-it's fine I miss him to Catherine" I couldn't help but feel guilt from her calling me that i mean the woman lost her husband for Titans sake I sighed deeply and sat at the table while I could hear Felix singing in the shower "I knew youuu stepping off the last train marked me like a blood stain iii~" i chuckled pressing the stop on my scroll to stop recording and put it in my front pocket and pour the cereal in my bowl then adding the milk before stirring my cereal and milk together and scooping it up with my spoon and eating it. After a while I get bored and yell putting on Caleb's coat "Felix! If you don't hurry up I'm going to leave without you!" I say hanging on the doorknob there's no reply so I shrug and leave with Starla scratching at my window from upstairs meowing to come but the previous fight I had with her between the golden guard got her ear chipped and I can't risk it so I went without her. I was walking around the isles I didn't mind walking sometimes but I bumped into something or someone "hey watch we're your going witch hunter!" The word witch hunter rang throughout my head I could feel my anger boiling up inside me I look up to see none other then Ruby Skuller she was Felix's second best friend Felix's first best friend was her sister Millie Skuller I clenched my fist as I speak in a hard tone "what did you just call me?" I ask glaring at her she let a low chuckle before speaking "oh you know what I called you witch hunter" she shot a glare at me and I lost it and spoke up "you know it's a shame your grandma must've been a nice person to bad she's dead" her face instantly dropped and she yelled at me "don't you dare speak about my grandma like that witch hunter!" I chuckled and walked away while she's yelling some stuff at me.

After a few hours it turned to nightfall and I heard a voice "Hey you!" I turn around to see the golden guard "oh hey blondie" the golden guard growls "your coming with me I mean it this time!" I chuckled "are you actually going to put me in prison or-" I felt a whack to the back of my head and groan getting back up to see the golden guard getting ready to blast me with his staff i freeze as my breath hitched "o-okay okay I'm going with you" he allows me to get up and I think to myself 'should I run away or should I follow and get sent to jail?' I think but shake my head 'nah my bounty is really high it'd be a shame to lose my winning streak' I think to myself before looking at him to see he's distracted and I kick him in the back of his leg and run sprinting for it I move my fingers in a circular motion casting an orange glow and make an ice spike in front of his face I hear a sharp slice as he attempts to doge it and it scratches his arm and he groans as it left a big mark on him and I teleport back to Catherine's house chuckling to myself.

In a blink of an eye I'm in front of the door and i walk in and bump into Catherine and she yells making me flinch "Where have you been it's past six o'clock!" She is yells pointing at a clock I speak up trying to explain "I was getting chased by the golden guard and he tried to take me to jail and-" I was cut off before my wrist was grabbed "that is no excuse young lady I gave you a routine and you will follow it!" She yells dragging me to my room and I desperately try to reason with her I speak up "C-Catherine please stop!" I say tearing up as I try to pull away she mutters something under her breath "you ungrateful brat I'm sick of you coming home late" she muttered and we reach my room and she throws me on the floor speaking up "Do not expect dinner Evelyn you are not getting anything for breaking my rules!" I sit up reaching for her "Catherine please!" I say tears streaming down my face and she slams the door leaving me in a dark room I try to mutter out some words but I can't breathe I growl and hit my head repeatedly "I hate myself I hate everything I do!" I pull my hair as my breathing turns heavy and the room starts to shrink and then grow back in size I crawl over to a corner in my room bumping some stuff from how dark it is and I sob and holding myself  'I don't understand why I'm like this' I think aloud in my head before hearing a meow and I look up and speak trembling "St-Starla?" I say feeling her crawl onto my lap as she nuzzles my hand and I smile gently before stroking her and relaxing my breathing with a technique my brother Phillip taught me I think back to the memory leaning my head against the wall.

I was seven years old and I was holding my head onto my knees gripping my hair sobbing "I-I get the texture off me!" I sobbed and cried kicking my legs I remember I touched a type of fabric and it made me go into a panicking state it felt like rough sand paper to me I heard some footsteps over my sobbing it was Phillip and he crouched down in front of me "Hey Evie I know your not feeling to well from that fabric I'm sorry I bought the wrong type I should of known better." He sighed and I looked at me still sobbing I couldn't see very well from the tears in my eyes but I knew he felt bad and he paused for a moment and then spoke up again "hey Evie? Can I show you my breathing technique that helps me calm down?" He asks and I nodded and I lift my head up and he stuck up his hand and started to count his fingers out loud. "One two three" he paused before speaking up "you wanna count with me Evie?" I nodded slowly as I counted along "O-one t-two three" I began to count my fingers as well and calmed down slowly I then wiped my tears and smiled "thanks Phillip."

I soon snap out of my trip down memory lane after hearing my door creak open and I move back but bang my head on the wall by accident "OW!" I look at my door and see Felix "Felix?" I took a pause before speaking up "Why are you in my room?" He looked at me and spoke up "I snuck you some food" he smiled at me and I smiled back at my cousin in law and took it from him and ate the food I didn't like the demon realm food but it'll do for now I sighed then layed on my bed with my pailsmen and fell asleep listening to the boiling rain I was unaware that was even happening.
