Day 1

Owen woke up to freezing water. He barely stopped himself from sucking in a breath at the chill. Blinking his eyes open in the murky water, he clawed his way to the surface.

Letting out a gasp as she breached the surface, he greedily gulped in the air. The sounds of his gasping breaths and the splash of water echoed around the walls of the cave he found himself in. Purple gems jutted out of the walls, and a giant statue of a face loomed ominously over the pool of water in the center. A strange sort of settlement was built into the walls of the cave. Paths and rooms were carved into the wall by some long-gone occupant.

Across from the statue was an opening, a cave entrance high above the ground with no visible access point. Standing in front of the entrance stood a figure. Dressed in white robes, the familiar form of a cultist stared down at him.

Swimming to the edge of the pool, Owen glared up at her captor. Only the steep rock face separated them.

"HAY YOU!" He yelled, "LET ME OUT OF HERE!"

He couldn't see their face but she had an inkling they were smug.

He tried to pull himself up the wall. Grabbing onto the small cracks in the smooth surface He reached forward, grabbing the next outcrop of rock when it broke off. For a moment he is weightless, then the air leaves his lungs as his back slams into the floor.

A chuckle echoed from above him.

"Oh, you think this is funny?" The world spins as he stands back up, "just wait until I get up there."

He reaches for the wall again. He'll need to be more careful this time.

He reaches about halfway up the wall before he runs out of handholds. His fingers hurt as he clings to the rock face, trying to find a way to continue. Maybe if jumped....

____

He finally gives up after the 10th fall. The cultist had left ages ago. With aching arms and bloody fingertips, Owen had to accept defeat. She glanced around the cave again, maybe there was another way out? He hasn't explored much of the cavern yet, surely there had to be something.

____

There was nothing, no way out. At least not one she could find.

He had been searching the cave for what felt like days. The only option now was to wait for one of the other pirates to come find him.

How long had he been here? It felt like forever, but it probably wasn't more than a few hours. It would take at least a day for anyone to realize he was gone, and then another for them to get together, and then who knows how long to find him.

Knowing them it would probably be a week before anyone showed up. She better get comfortable, it was going to be a long wait.

Day 2

How long has he been here again?

It had to have been at least a day... the cultist had returned earlier to throw a "dinner" of what looked like dog food into the pit.

It was rather boring being here by himself.

"I wonder if they've realized I'm missing yet" he mumbled to himself, "They come for me once they do, I'm sure of it"

It's still too early to expect a recuse party. It's probably only been a day. Still, 6 days until the week he perfected. They'll find him here eventually,

Wherever here is.

"I'm sure they'll figure something out" The other pirates were smart... well some of them were. He'll be out of here in no time. He just had to hang on until then.
