"It's been weeks!" Mitsuri screamed dramatically towards Shinobu with a pout on her face.

Shinobu was able to hold back an annoyed comment towards the love pillar and sigh before looking back at her sword.

Weeks had passed ever since that mission, you weren't even talking to Iguro despite getting paired with him most of the time. If you did, it would be because of the mission. Nothing more. And when they try to talk to you about it, you would brush them off by saying that you're too tired for everything which made Mitsuri come over to the butterfly estate to express her sorrows.

As if Shinobu can put an end to that though.

"Let's just give her some time alone" she told her for the hundredth time "[First Name] is having a rough journey with everything, especially when something happened during that time where they came back after a mission."

The love pillar seemed to have an idea about what Shinobu was talking about and jumped from her seat.

"I was thinking about the same thing!" Mitsuri exclaimed in happiness.

Of course you would, it's been pretty obvious for the past few weeks.

As much as Shinobu wanted to say those words, she kept it to herself and smiled at the oblivious love pillar. Her eyes kept a calm stare but deep inside she couldn't help but feel angry, not towards Mitsuri.

But to how the situation is handled.

"I tried talking to Iguro-san about but all I get is something with the lines 'I don't care about her' or 'Stop thinking about it'! He's really being mean you know?! I was just trying to help!" the love pillar cried in sorrow.

Shinobu sighed once again at Mitsuri's outburst, "It cannot be helped."

"But why?" she asked.

"As much as I want to tell you about it. I myself do not know what's behind all of this aside her feelings for that snake pillar."

A confused look was plastered on Mitsuri's face as her tears dramatically stopped after hearing Shinobu's answer.

"Then we should be investigating that matter!"

"That won't be good."

"Oh come on!" Mitsuri pleaded "For the sake of her, we must know what's going on!"

The insect pillar sigh in annoyance and gave Mitsuri a stern glare, one that made her shut up immediately and pout.

"It's not that easy" Shinobu told her.

Well, even if it will be easy. She doesn't think that it's the right thing since you needed space for the time being, and with everyone around you trying to figure how to bring you back to normal. It would be a pressure, something Shinobu didn't want you to feel when you're already down in the mud.

Not literally down in the mud, but it works that way when the person you love had the audacity to step on you multiple times and never feels guilty about doing so.

A soft sigh escaped Shinobu's lips for a hundredth time, her eyes looking at the other female in front of her before her gaze slip past Mitsuri.

There you were, walking mindlessly like a corpse. Eyes blank like they usually are, but at the same time it had a hint of distaste in them. Something clicked inside Shinobu's mind, were you about to go on another mission?

"[First Name]!" she finally called, not being able to hold back her concern.

Mitsuri on the other hand also looked around to find you walking, only to stop when Shinobu had called your name. Your tensed body relaxed at the sight of the two female pillars as you gave them a small smile.

"Hello" you greeted.

Shinobu was the first one to react, having to run towards your direction in a hurry. Not wanting to waste any second as she knew you were going to be in a mission.

"Who's your partner for now?" she asked you, her eyes scanning any signs of your partner coming only to see nothing.

You only gave her a shrug, "I wasn't paired with anyone for this mission. Oyakata-sama told me I was just going to patrol an area, and it's winter. So I'm the best for the job, I don't need a partner for that."

She could see the struggle in your eyes, the way you'd avoid her gaze and look around instead.

"I see" Shinobu hummed "I know you can handle it, but are you really fine without one? You seem distraught for the past few days."

Huh?

A flicker of amusement tinted your gaze, your lips curling up in a smile at her words. Funny, you? Distraught? You didn't even thought about it, you were just...

Walking around.

"I'm fine" you replied in a hurry, eyes looking around for any possible excuse to get yourself away from their concerned stares.

Mitsuri was able to catch on your attempts and frowned, "You're not fine. Why are you trying to go away? Why are you in a hurry?"

In a hurry?

"I need to patrol." Though you knew too well that you were tasked to patrol during the night, where the cold would hit tough.

And it was weird to patrol on the day, it's the others who are tasked to do that during winters.

It wasn't you.
