Juniper's POV Opening
A predicted series of events led me to come crawling back to the streets I swore I would never be able to call home. I was a Rosewood. Home could never be anything other than silk sheets, prepped meals, a perfect A/C, and an abundance of furniture. But less and less did that stuff begin to matter. And less and less did it even feel like home. It's as if my meaning of home was becoming renewed. Home had a new meaning and it was a feeling. A feeling of safety, serenity, and love. And somehow, for some odd reason, that feeling was present, whenever I even talked to Violette. Wherever I talked to Violette. Home isn't a place; it's a feeling. A feeling that Junius no longer evokes. A feeling my "home" has been stripped of.
Junipers POV
The full moons Translucent light reflected off of the dull apartment building as the lights of my Wrangler dimmed and became non-existent. It was only eight pm but the events of today had me Abest advice was to run. "Run as far as possible before Jasper can find out and get a grip on you". "And don't run to our house in the mountains, he would check there". "Don't even text me to let me know you're okay cause that could end badly, and so could using any of your cards". "I love you baby, but this is what's best for now". But that was just Bullshit to me. The way she would never try and protect me because hell, she was scared of him her damn self. But all of this was her choice. She actually had a choice in who she loved, and she chose fear. And she constraints me to loving in fear along with her.
Tired feet of mine began pulling me towards apartment 225, which seemed to be my last hope of a home. For now, at least. The amount of cash on me was high but using it at any hotel with some decency was an easy guess for Jasper. Once I stood directly in front of the faded door, I knocked lightly, trying not to disturb any of the peace. Seconds later the door was swung open, but still remained somewhat cracked. "Who the hell are you? And what do you want?" Asked a rather dark lady. The skin tones were alike, but she was nothing like Ms. Esthume. Her hair was dry and scraggly, her teeth golden yellow, and her lips big and cracked. "Ummm........My names Juniper, I was looking for uhhhh Violette. She lives here. Right?" I stated nervously. I'm pretty damn sure I'm at the right door. The women's once tense look changed to one of piffled disgust. "Maybe, but I pay the fucking rent" the older woman retorted teasingly. I didn't know how to respond. My eyes focused as the door became more agape and a more pleasant face stood behind it. Violette's hazel eyes rolled as she began shaking her head. "Kaylen, the nuggets are burning" She said tapping the slightly taller woman's shoulder. The lady let out a big deep breath. "You dumb fuck, you can't do shit right" She yelled brushing past Violette, causing the door to open wider as she rushed to the rather miniature Kitchen.
"Sorry about that" Violette said apologetically as she stared at me. She looked so sexy, I thought I'd choke on my words. She wore a black and white athletic sports bra, thoroughly ripped skinny jeans that shonwed off all her curves, and underwear with a thick waist band that showed. I released a shy smile but before I could conjure up broken words I was startled and interrupted. "Shitttttt" Shouted the woman that Violette called Kaylen as I heard the sound of a pan clashing against the counter. "Get out Violette, you and your damn friend. Nowwwww" Kaylen screeched. "Can I at least eat first" Violette asked with attitude. "It ain't shit to eat no more thanks to you. Now get the hell out cause I'm on the verge of beating your ass" the woman said cruely. Violette took a deep breath before slipping on her slides which were right beside the door, and then slamming the door behind her. Her hazel eyes became quite green as they looked as if they were beginning to water, becoming a burned red. "Are you okay? Who was that Violette "completely shocked I asked. "My Aunt, I live with her if you didn't know" Violette said leaning against the brick wall with her arms crossed. "Is she always like this?"wide-eyed I questioned. Silence filled Violette as she got up from the wall and started walking towards the eroding staircase.
