The Forbidden Love Between Kingdoms

Chapter 1:Thoughts

Penelope, the princess of King Marco is wondering when her freedom will come because of her mother, queen Lily, not letting her outside in years.

Penelope walks around taking a glance outside a window, "what a pretty view, if only I could be there." Queen Lily approaches her, "stop day dreaming about what won't happen, the prince is here to meet you anyways" she tells Penelope sternly. Penelope follows her mother to the front gate to meet the prince while having a gloomy face. "Now now, sharpen up. Your future husband is right outside this gate."

(Penelope's pov)
My future husband. Great, a planned marriage and I don't even get a say in it.

I force a smile and watch as mother opens the gate. I stare outside of the gate wondering what it must be like out there. I rarely am ever allowed to go outside unless father takes me outside. Mother always hates when I go outside and I don't understand why she doesn't want me to see such beauty the outside world has.

Father walks over and introduces himself to the prince and so does my mother. I look outside the open gate only one more time before too introducing myself. "I am princess Penelope" I tell the prince while I curtsy. The prince bows and my parents leave us alone. "Princess Penelope, as I am sure you don't want this marriage as much as me I think we shall make plans to stop it from happening." I nod happily and we start talking about a way to stop it.

Before the prince leaves I tell him to only call me Penelope as it is my name and I'm not too fond of the proper things. "How marvelous, seems you two are getting along so well" mother says and I drop the fake smile and walk towards my room, "now don't be so rude, darling." Mother follows after me before getting caught up in servants having conversations with her. I sigh as I get into my room and change to get ready to practice with father.

I've always loved practice with father, it is the only times I'm allowed outside. I head out to the back gate to not get caught by mother. As I leave I head on my way to the practice area. I see father and run up to him happily. "I'm ready for today's practice, father" I say to him and he smiles softly. "Very well, we shall begin your training now." I smile as I hold up my sword, father laughs. "Not that kind of training today, dear" he tells me which catches me off guard and gets me confused. He motions for me to follow him.

He takes me to such a pretty place. I look around and notice a small village. I smile gleefully and father returns my smile. I put my sword away and take off the heavy armour to reveal my new clothes. I start heading to the villages as father only stares. I pay no attention to father while I make my way to the village. I am greated by a young girl around 6 and I smile softly to her. She stares at me with wide eyes a asks if I'm the princess. I nod and she hugs me while squealing. She runs off and I see other villagers come back with her.

Each villager gives me a nice meeting which makes me smile. "How nice of you all" I tell them all. I look around to see all the different villagers and what they are. A few elves catch my attention as they make their way to me. "Hello your majesty" I hear one say. I smile down at them and they return my smile.

A few have gone by and all of the villagers have given me such wonderful greetings. Except one who hasn't said a word and barely looked at me once.

As all the other villagers go about their day I make my way to the one who has said nothing. "Hello ma'am,how are you doing?" I look at the woman and notices she's a dragon. "I'm fine,what do you want anyways?" she says in such a harsh tone. "I just wanted to say hi" I tell her a bit upset at her other response.

Jeez,dragons have such rude attitudes. I sometimes wish they didn't though I've only ever heard they had such awful attitudes from others. This is my first time ever meeting one in person.
