The carnival was important to the town. It was the one thing we all could do. We were a nowhere town that was so small we are barely on the map. Our town was surrounded by creepy woods so no one really visited us. If you ask anyone in the town they couldn't tell you how many times they went with their families but they could always tell you how much fun they have every time they went. A few months ago a really rich company moved into our town and started taking over. The boss was like a supervillain. My friends were on the way back from high school when we heard James Kline, the person who runs the carnival, on the phone. He seemed upset. We tried to mind our own business but he shouted about how he isn't going to sell the carnival to Radiantelligence Media, the company that moved here. From that point on Callista and I started listening while the rest went home to avoid suspicion from their parents. "Fine, I will sell you the carnival if I don't reach my set goal of people this weekend." Our faces had a look of pure shock. We ran home to tell our parents what we heard. The next day at school we told everyone in our grade. By the time school ended the whole school knew. From that, it's like it had a mind of its own almost the whole town knew. Families were going twice a day. Friends were going every time they could. By the time the weekend hit, the whole town was there and having fun. When the 'villain' as the teenagers in class called him arrived he could barely make it through. If looks could kill he would be beyond dead. We won and later that month the company moved out of our town and things went back to the way they were.
